Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Meow. Hello, my name is Tinker.
To: HairOfTheDog
I have never seen Anika. I don't know what she looks like. But there have been male callers on this talk show who've mentioned that her being a heterosexual blonde female who is pleasant to watch seemed to make her playing in the tournament more okay. But, then a female just called in and said they were nuts she saw Anika's mustache and she knows she's on testosterone.
It's the wimmin on this radio show who are being the most resentful and ugly about her being there. I'm real tempted to just chalk that all up to envy.

when we got to 100 I yelled "WOW that's really fast"My Daddy bought a car for my sister and me during our first couple of years in college. This was 1972, and he found us a 1964 Chevy Nova. It even came with a vanity tag on the front "Beaumont High Bulldogs". At first my sister and I wanted to take it off because Beaumont MS was in the 'country', and we were 'city' girls. After a couple of weeks, though, we started calling the car 'Beaumont', so we left the tag on it!.
The car was like tank, it was SO heavy. Once, I was driving it to the Coast, and it is rolling hills from my hometown to Gulfport. I was tooling along listening to the radio, and happened to look at the speedometer; I was doing 85! That was the fastest I'd ever gone in my life and it scared the bejeebers out of me!! Lucky for me there were no 'smokies' around!

To: g'nad
Hey!! The stinky dwarf finally shows up!! Good to see ya! Hope all is well with Mrs. g'nad, the dwarvling and your older kids!!
To: SuziQ
The girl that gave me rides to school through my junior year drove a 64 Nova!!!! One of the guys who raced already was always trying to buy it from her. She babied that car. A few years after graduation I was at the races in Austin one weekend and that same guy from my high school showed up with a '64 Nova Hot Stock. He was a good racer. That was a good stock car.
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah I saw that the other day.
To: g'nad
HA! It is a cool place.
If you are gonna be around now, we can bring you up to speed on entmoot when you are ready. There are a couple polls in the Yahoo Hobbit Hole that will help bring everyone up to date on the decisions that needed to be made.
We have already sent the deposit on it, so its a go. It is gonna be cheap.... couple hundred buck each for housing for the whole week when split up amongst us.
There are five bedrooms and more than 11 Hobbit Hole Dwellers going, so most of us single folks and folk who don't mind camping will crash wherever.... I may bring a tent and sleep on the beach!
To: g'nad
Awww. He is SO CUTE!! I just love those little baby sacks like he's wearing! Tell Mrs. g'nad she done good!
