The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You may not have, she was a class behind me. I remembered them because the two sisters were not twins but were in the same class.... maybe one of them was older and held back, maybe they were only 9 months apart and it just worked out that way.... don't know..

But, in the families before me that have divorced and remarried there is a spoken rule that we can never love those step-people really because they aren't blood

That's one thing I always admired about my Mama and Daddy. Two of my older brothers had divorced and re-married, but I don't remember them ever being ugly to the former in-laws. She even baby sat for one of the former d-i-l's once when she wanted to go somewhere with her new husband, but didn't have a sitter for their baby. They'd been chatting on the phone, and Susan mentioned this event, and not being able to go. She was stunned when Mama told her to bring the baby over and she'd babysit.

The only exception to that situation was my little sister's former husband. He and his family are just pure white trash, and she couldn't stand them for the way he treated my sister. So she has NOTHING to do with that one. My sister got pregnant at 16, and my parents told her that the DIDN'T have to marry this guy, but I think she just wanted to get out of the house! Oddly, a few months later, they rented the house next door to my folks! Anyway, after almost 30 years, and too many guys since to mention, she married for the 3rd time, and this one may be the charm! I think she's finally settled down!

I don't think any of those reality type shows are actually real anyway, so I guess I'm not too bummed that he didn't win.

Besides, preorders for his CD are outselling the other guy's on Amazon.

Aukeen district judge sets bail at $500,000
2003-05-23
Journal Staff

BLACK DIAMOND -- The 42-year-old man who police believe stabbed his 35-year-old girlfriend to death earlier this week appeared in Aukeen District Court Thursday afternoon.

A judge set bail for David Wayne Clark at $500,000. Charges are expected to be filed today.

Black Diamond police Cmdr. Christopher Hurst said prosecutors are considering a first-degree murder charge with a deadly weapon enhancement.

Sheila Sinclair died early Wednesday morning of stab wounds to the trunk, said a spokesman with the King County medical examiner's office.

Black Diamond police officers were called to the Cedar Brook Mobile Home Park, 31108 Third Ave., about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, relatives and a neighbor had already taken Sinclair to Enumclaw Community Hospital. She was declared dead when she arrived.

Hurst said she had stab wounds to the chest, back and hands.

Officers found Clark -- with slash wounds on his arms -- in the couple's trailer, along with a hunting knife they believe was used in the stabbing. He told police that he stabbed Sinclair, according to court documents.

Investigators believe that Sinclair's 3-year-old boy witnessed the stabbing, while his 8-year-old brother left the trailer after the altercation began.

Police continued to investigate the scene Thursday and are expected to complete their evidence collection by Thursday evening.

Clark was expected to be transferred to the Regional Justice Center jail in Kent late Thursday.

My family all shares a love of Garrison Keillor, and when I got tickets to a live show, My mom, my step dad Frank, and my dad all went over and saw the show together. Was a three hour drive each way plus the show, and we had a great time. They were also together for weddings graduations and funerals of course.

I think the two men got along great! Frank was always very impressed by my dad and how well well my mom and dad treated each other, though divorced.

I have never even heard of that movie!

You would just LOVE it!! It's one of the best parts I've ever seen Geena Davis play. It is an interesting story, and it is very much an ACTION movie, which I love.

See.... I don't even know who Clay is! I can't mourn his loss.

Clay is the substance I'm dealing with in my flower beds.

LOL!! There were 2 reasons Grama never had a wreck after being blind. 1)she lived in the same small town from the age of 17 and seldom went anywhere but the grocery store, post office, drug store and liquor store 2) if she were going somewhere that wasn't in her normal weekly routine she would get Myranda to ride along to see. ????
