The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Exactly.
I'm upset with my sister right now because she went out and got a kitten knowing she was allergic to cats! Of course, the inevitable happened and her asthma is more than she can handle....thus, the cat must now live outside! Grrrrr....
My nephew loves the cat and cannot bear to part with her so my sister will not even consider finding her another home.
She is sooo irresponsible!

And another thing I like about the animal owning Hole Dwellers...look at how responsible Hair has been with her animals? And OT treats Her Majesty better than I treat my kids!

Yeah I am leaving as soon as I type this, and feed horses, in about 10 minutes. The feed store is about 1/2 south of 161st and Memorial. Bixby Farm and Ranch Supply, they just opened about 2 months. ago. The same guy had a successful feed store for about 10yrs there then sold out to Ace Hardwared, then 2yrs later of being retired opened up again, when everyone begged him too. He's a friend of ours, just thru feed and horses, and he ropes with my son.

IMHO, if you can't afford to care for an animal in the most basic of ways (food, shelter, medical care as needed, etc), you have no business getting one.
I get burned up watching Animal Precinct on AP!

My kids are playing in their little pool again. They had to wait till a little shade got over it, because Josh is so fair...but the water was there from last night and was nice and warm from the sun...they are having a blast, I can hear them through the window.

Have fun, 2J! Hope it ends up being a moot!
I accomplished something! Spent the morning spreading mulch at the campus with the guys I work with, which went well except that we managed to destroy the campus' newest truck...or at least dinged it really bad. REALLY bad. I wasn't part of that, but I witnessed it!
Then I replaced a laptop modem, came home and mowed my lawn and weedwhacked. I ended up buying a weedwhacker at Wal-mart a little while ago...this was my first time really using it. One of those cordless jobbies - it did a fine job, and no smoke or cord! I like it.
Now my brothers just called to let me know they're coming over to do laundry, which probably means I need to think of something for dinner and FAST! They didn't ask for dinner, but I bet one of the first things out of their mouths when they get her will be "So...what do you have to eat?" Guess I'd better go prepare. *sigh*

I am keeping the list as up to date as possible on the Entmoot '04 page. I am less than 3 hours away, I will definitely be there, will be staying in Florida too! (At the Sulla residence).

I met Paynoattention! I was at the wrong feed store, but she hunted me down and we had a "micro-moot" in the parking lot! What a nice person, such a cheerful person!
We're getting together for the "egg-hatchin'" at her house in a couple of weeks...should be fun!
Amazing that we only live a few miles from each other!

I looked in the catalog that Becky showed me and it said minimum was 25 chicks...but I can't find it on the webpage you sent me to...so I might give them a call if the feed store deal falls through tomorrow.

Cool LCS! - But you don't want to have to commute 3 hours! We are going to get together over at least a couple days, some of us a whole week! Want a spot at the castle? - Some of us are just crashing anywhere, but there are bedrooms available still too!
