Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Glad to hear you're OK, 2J! We was all worried about ya.
To: HairOfTheDog
What map image did you post, Hair? Your post shows central upstate New York on my computer. I generally regard MapQuest as reasonably unreliable, though.
Morning, everyone, see you guys this evening, I hope. I see a low moving into Oklahoma, however, on the morning weather map.

Sheesh! What a night.
Glad your safe and okay 2J.
I fell asleep on the couch watching a movie. Mrs. kept nagging me to go to bed. I was quite comfortable where I was, thank you very much...
Up now for Jr's baseball game at 9:00 a.m. Meeting one of the coaches early for some extra batting practice. Not sure what the weather will be here today.
Have a good day all.

Good Morning, all!
Glad you're still with us 2J! Hear you have more of the same coming today. :(
Just finishing up coffee and then it's a short trip for errands and then off to do some gardening.

Relief. I went into my bed just about the time you posted. The radar showed it past and I didn't know anything else I could do...... like i was doing anything anyway.
Just one thing I have to say,
THANK YOU JESUS FOR HEARING OUR PRAYERS FOR OUR BELOVED FRIEND 2J, HER JEDIS AND STEVE!!!!!

I'm going back to bed for an hour now. Our graduation is this morning and my boss is picking me up in 1-1/2 hours. I need more sleep.

Well, I couldn't go back to sleep. Boss will pick me up in 20 minutes or so. When I get back I will probably be taking a nap.
2J, I went to my bed finally at 3:30 this morning. Girl, I dreamed about ya'll. I dreamed I drove up without knowing how to find you, went to the town, there was a high rise apartment building all tore up. I went in there looking for you and lo and behold, found you and the Jedis in the only apartment in the building still undamaged and you were grilling steaks on an indoor grille that was sitting on an ironing board. LOL! I knew all of you when I saw you. Steve had been asleep but came out sleepy-eyed wondering what was going on sometime in the middle of the dream. He was peeved because you were in the HH again - because I was there!!! LOL This was hilarious. You were saying, "this is not the Hobbit Hole, this is real life!"
Anyway, I woke up 2 or 3 times thinking - well, it's time to get up and go up there now. But, then I'd "really" wake up and - duh, that was the dream. Gee, it has been an interesting night.

Morning all; "it was a dark and stormy night" again; tornado was south of us again, bout 20 miles at 9:30 pm; held together for quite awhile; getting to be a regular occurence, sheesh, quite a spring so far. Thunder and hail about 3 am but nothing else, but weather set up for a repeat tonight.
Truly a blessing that so few have been hurt so far; prayers for those who have.
To: 2Jedismom
Praise God, you're OK! I heard this morning about the twisters in OKC, but didn't hear about Tulsa.

Our graduation is this morning We're heading over to Amherst at noon for our #1 son's college graduation. Woo Hoo! 5 years, and he finally made it! LOL! He added a major during his 4th year, so stayed a 5th to complete the reqauirements for the new one.
Actually, his real graduation is on the 25th, but that is going to be a zoo! He is in the Honors College at UMass, and they have their own ceremony today. The students will wear their caps and gowns, and the Commonwealth College will recognize each one and present them their honor cords to wear at graduation. It will be close enough for us; we'll get pictures and everything.
At the real graduation, there are so many students that they don't get recognized by name, they just ask the whole group from each 'school', ie, Liberal Arts, Fine Arts, etc., to stand up en masse! Our son was glad he didn't have to do that one. He'll be driving the shuttle buses on campus on that day making some money!

I got paid to go to my own graduation by playing in the band instead of sitting with the mob of students.

Glad to hear you are fine. I don't know how we missed it from watching the TV Radar, but we did not even get enough rain to wet the patio. We are about 3 miles off hgwy 64, between Leonard and Bixby. Did I hear wrong, or is there a chance of a repeat performance tonite?

Now there's a reason to go to graduation!
My school is small so they'll recognize us all individually. Next year I think we have all of three computer science graduates, counting me.
Well, I slept in late, and have to take my little brothers for ice cream if they do their part by cleaning up their mess.

You went to UofA? I went to NAU. :)

We're about to head out for our adventure w/ FFrodo. We'll hit DC first, then off to my nephew's family to celebrate his graduation from college. Tis' the season!

Morning!
Well, wish us luck with the weather. We're about to head out the door w/ FFrodo. Has been very rainy/drizzley. Frodo may have to wear a makeshift poncho to keep him safe and dry.
But a little drizzle is a small matter compared to the storms you dodged, 2Jm. Glad you and yours are safe!
To: Lil'freeper
Good thing I combined posts- otherwise I'd be headed for a funkle....
To: Lil'freeper
Oh phooey. I'll funkle anyway.
Have a great day, everyone!
To: Lil'freeper
I went to NAU.Really? Both of my sisters went there, and I seriously considered it. Got offered more scholarship $$ at UofA though.
Have a fun adventure with Frodo today.
