The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Maybe ballet is Gondorian.

Somehow, I don't think the Dwarves will be surprised to learn this!

Hey thanks SSQ! I'm going right over there. I didn't know there might be an option for no closing costs. Like you said, my amount may be too small but it's sure worth checking out. I would have much rather gone with the 15 year note when I bought the house but realtors and the title company people all discouraged this. WHY? I don't know, but, I'm going to check those options out now.

I signed up with a board.

Wonder if they fight as badly as C and F?

One of my 'small' dresses from college days suddenly fits just fine, so I'm wearing it with one very smug smile.

Woo Hoo! It IS a nice feeling being able to fit into something you haven't been able to wear for years!
Of course it's sad that we keep these clothes for so many years HOPING we'll be able to get back into them! LOL!

one of my brother works in assembly and uses cordless tools, and he's tried to convince me they're much better now!

SSQ loves cordless tools! He has a DeWalt Cordless Drill that he uses ALL the time! The power packs have gotten better, and hold charges longer than they used to.

A cordless one sounds like it would be good for you. Like Hair said, go to the store and pick up a few to see how they feel.

I think Ramius will be a "go".... No reason why not! I am still waiting for my flippin checks to arrive.... any chance you are on paypal so I could send $$ that way? - It might be good to get set up in Pay pal so that we can use it for sending the other amounts too. Anyhow... I will get Ramius to send a check too.

Penny briefly logged in and responded on thread that she was gonna look into it.... not sure that she got my replies about the money and the dates needed.

Of course it's sad that we keep these clothes for so many years HOPING we'll be able to get back into them!

Unfortunately I have discovered the dress is a little worse for lack of wear. When the cats were younger they loved to take flying leaps into closets and cling to the clothes. The fabric has more than a few snags and the tie-backs are rather well-chewed. Oh well, I'm still enjoying wearing it. :)

I have an acount but I haven't verified it with my own bank account. I use it so I can pay with my debit card any small things we might get E-Bay every now and then.

It might be good to get set up in Pay pal so that we can use it for sending the other amounts too.

I think that was mentioned when we first started this but it was brought up that there may some trouble with PayPal(fees and such) when you deal in a lot of money.
