The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yes, he is going to have something of a kink in his back! -

I had to fix him up some, because shortly after I got him I stiffened up his standee in the back with glue... what I found out though, is that I couldn't fold him any more, so I had to kind-of pry that loose to get him in the mail.... He will stand up just fine anyway, but the wear and tear that happens will definately be to the fold area, and his sword, which is vulnerable to being bent.

He's up to the trip.

I would recommend not folding him and unfolding him any more than necessary.... I stood him up and left him set up all those months.

He will look a bit worn when I get him back, methinks!

When are you taking him? - Do you have him scheduled?

I'm not scheduled. Don't know why he'd want to come here. I never go anywhere!

If you notice, I didn't take him anywhere special.... He is off to see America... not just the touristy spots. Take him out to your garden and you have got yourself a story!

We could even personalize them with each person's handle,

I LIKE that idea! Hope you can get out this way! I'm going to MS June 4th -10th and Clare and I are going to NYC with her Girl Scout troop June 27-29, otherwise, we'll be here.

papers? you mean moving? - Well, he isn't scheduled to be anywhere till June. If Lil'Freeper is fast, you could get him next.... Don't know what kind of timing she needs.

Then we'd need to get a third person in on this.
