The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yes, Muvico would be great! Do we want to do something beforehand?

Thanks for clarification. I missed that. But, you knew what I was really asking anyway.

It sounds like ya'll are going to have a little fun without us too!

I am shocked, shocked I say, to learn that you have seen TTT once.

I think having you guys around for the 3rd or 4th viewing will be wonderful. If we were to see it for the first time together I think we'd want to talk during the film. And I don't want to get PFFT'ed by Hair.

You only saw it ONCE? Did I get that right?

You were talking about the first midnight show... and then I thought you were going back the next evening or the one after?

You have a point!

But it just comes out right when all the creepy beasts are let out of school and I hate to waste my money. I just can't stands them and their filthy little parents for letting them run rampant in a cinema and ruin my viewing pleasure.

However, I will be going to see TTT frequently, once school opens back up. The 7th. Monday the 6th is merely a teacher workday.

Where is Ent Moot going to be? - What town?... I keep saying Orlando, but I am not sure that is right.

My main problem with screen names is when trying to explain some of the goings-on here to family members. I start talking about Hair and Bear and "the dwarves" and they look at me like I have two heads!

Well gang, I'm now officially an employee of Lyndon State College. Just talked to both my boss and the HR lady, and also told the bank I'd made a decision, so I'm all set. I start Monday!

I'm so happy for you Rosie! What a load off my mind! Everyone seems to be doing all right in the Hole. Still some with prayer needs...but things do look bright today!

Sure - either before or after, whichever works out best.

I figure a bite to eat would be nice. We should probably do that first since going to the theatre hungry is never a good idea for the waistline or pocketbook!

There's a Cracker Barrel restaurant right up the road a piece. We could have something there and it's easy to see from the highway so you can't miss it! :)

Congratulations!!! I hope you LOVE the job!

And that you have as many perks as possible to make up for anything lacking anywhere else.

Howdy, Wneighbor! You're a new face here, no? I've been away for awhile. It's great to see so many new folks here!

I'll be doing IT (computer support) work for the college, so my benefits are a little different than for faculty, but I still get considerably more time off than I would at the average company, plus the tuition benefits, of course. And the people in the IT dept are nice, too. I think it'll work out well. Of course, if nothing else, I'll be getting a paycheck and working decent hours, which is the most important thing.

Yippee for Rosie!

I'm soooo happy for you! *hug*

I know what you mean about trying to explain the goings-on in here. I have been offically declared "nuts" by some folks I know! ;)

I've just been working on this tune! It IS nice. Dad has the notation for it. I bought him a big book of tunes for Christmas, but I've been borrowing it rather frequently. Of course, he's been doing the same with MY best Christmas present - a book of Larry Unger tunes. So we're even. I LOVE my new book! Larry Unger writes some great tunes.

I live in Palm Bay, the theatre is in Melbourne. There is an airport in Melbourne (Melbourne International Airport), but it may be cheaper to fly into Orlando.
