The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

For me it depends on the screen name, and whether it works as a "call name". 2J and RMD are difficult to say... when I speak it, I say Kim. Since I know both of your names... I will likely switch to those in person because they are easier!

But Corin, I will probably always call "Corin", even if he has a good real name!

Now, I don't know how you guys will handle mine... whether Hair is easier or not! But OT and I will have a problem!

I call you Hair in my mind...not very flattering perhaps, but you chose it! LOL

OT is OT...I never refer to her as anything else in my mind.

Ruthy is Ruthy for some reason.

Corin in Corin, even though I know his real name. Same with g'nad.

Could you imagine us all drunk? What chaos.

I know, but don't people often get that one letter wrong with you? - They do for me!

The only person who called me with the wrong letter was my great-grandmother.

I'm tellin' ya!

I am certain that I will call Corin, Corin - and probably the same rule will apply for a lot of you. I'm great with faces but terrible with names!

How funny re: us drunk!

*hic* g'nad - stop arguing with Lil'freeper! Corin! Where are you? *urp* Who brought the hot wings? I'm feeling a bit like Elrond, right about now. *hic* 2J - cookies and hot wings do not go together very well and would you just look at Hair and Overtaxed - what in Middle-Earth are they doing? Oh, dancing? OK, where's Rosie? We need a whistle player. *hic* OK, I'm OK. Just trying to dance. What? No, I am NOT having a seizure, K-SEN! *laughs* Oh boy, where'd Bear go with the lampshade?

WN - the hotel arrangement is being worked on for Entmoot.

Mini-moot is just an excuse for some Florida Hobbit Holers to get together and watch TTT. We're getting together on January 25th.

We're still investigating for the real Entmoot. The one I was referring to is for anyone who can make it to Miami on 1/25/03.

We are almost one year to the day from the BIG moot. ;^)

8,766 hours to the Big Moot. ;^)

I guess I'll watch ROTK with my line once, before going to see it again at the Entmoot. I was nearly in shock when I saw the TT the first time and I haven't seen it since, so It'll almost be like the first time I've seen it, the next time I see it which will be 7th, during the day. I'm taking Matthew that day.

Does that make any sense?

Oh, by the way, did we make a final decision on where to see TTT? If memory serves, we are going to Muvico, which is actually in Broward County and close to Sawgrass Mills (the BIG mall).

If so, that will shave about an hour's worth of driving time for you! :)
