Howdy, Wneighbor! You're a new face here, no? I've been away for awhile. It's great to see so many new folks here!
I'll be doing IT (computer support) work for the college, so my benefits are a little different than for faculty, but I still get considerably more time off than I would at the average company, plus the tuition benefits, of course. And the people in the IT dept are nice, too. I think it'll work out well. Of course, if nothing else, I'll be getting a paycheck and working decent hours, which is the most important thing.
That sounds excellent! I really didn't expect to like my job as much as I do so that's been a great bonus in itself. I work with great folks and really haven't had the high level of normal negative junk that we think of as going with any job. Like I said, it's been a major blessing in many areas that I didn't even count on. And I've had lots of time with my daughter which was the reason I did it anyway.
Yep. Pretty new. Was lurking forever. Then school got slow and I jumped in before the holidays. Than had to leave for my 10 day holiday time off. hehehe. Didn't get that at the old jobs.
