Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Are you sharing with Gidget?

Yeah. What she said.

The Count is a fabulous movieIt is currently sitting at #2 on my Netflix Queue.

I've heard a lot of criticism of that. But I think it will be great.I have to laugh at the criticism. It's not like the folks who are going to see the movie don't know the story anyway! We won't NEED the subtitles because we'll KNOW the dialogue.
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, I know story too, but I am not convinced as to how it will play if there is effectively no dialogue...
We'll see.

Hmmm...another one to add to Netflix...If you haven't seen Frequency, be sure and get that one, too! It is a great father/son story!
To: HairOfTheDog
essentially no dialogue? - Yeah - that is what I meant.

Good morning!
My Rose and I are big fans of Alias, saw the episode last night... it was a little bit mind-blowing! If it gets renewed for next season, I think Sidney's little time-slip will really shake things up!

I didn't like MM at first... But I'm coming around. And from what I hear, he's a musician too! Likes to play the bongos!

Well, I know story too, but I am not convinced as to how it will play if there is effectively no dialogue... As with anything, it will hinge on personal preference. I can watch an opera in Italian and still appreciate the story. I'm trusting that the music and the images will tell the story.
[sheesh! I've admitted watching Moulin Rouge and opera in the same morning....g'nad? Vim? libarian? Where are you guys?]

I couldn't believe it. I noticed the wedding ring before Sydney said anything. And I'm glad Will is okay. He's right when he said that his life was ruined since he met her.
She has a scar... wonder what Sloan did to her.

So it will play to a niche audience of either the already devout, or those who want to be artsy enough to watch something that is equivalent to going to the opera, but the unwashed masses won't see it. I am just surprised... It might have been time to film a big release telling of the story of Jesus - something on the level of "The Ten Commandments".

Don't make me come over there and kiss you, Uh...I would not recommend that course of action.

have a beer...not some wimpy pilsner, a hearty, manly stout or porter!
imagine orcs skulls split by an axe and elves fallin' to their deaths screamin' like little girls!
does that help?
To: carton253
She has a scar... wonder what Sloan did to her.I hadn't considered that! I had assumed the scar was from her fight with Francie's double, before she blacked out.
I guess that leaves three possibilities: 1) Sydney blacked out, went into some altered mental state, and has been running around lost for two years; 2) Sloan (or someone else... her mother?) kidnapped her and has been holding her for some purpose for two years; 3) Someone (Sloan, again?) used the Rambaldi device to time-shift Sydney two years into the future.
I'll be really mad if they don't renew the show!
