Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I fell for MM in one of the Grisham movies.... A Time to Kill.I just love his soft Southern accent! Did you see him in Reign of Fire; the one about the dragons, with Christian Bale (another favorite)?
To: HairOfTheDog
I figured it out... and I learned how to link too. Has been a real educational kind of a morning.

Isn't he playing Jesus in Mel Gibson's movie?

I haven't seen Gosford Park... The name of it bored me, is it good? We liked it. It's a bit hard to follow because of the British accents and it's all soft spoken. But it gives a great representation of the distinction between the classes. Even down to the level of different classes of the serving class.
I think Maggie Smith is great in just about everything.

Oh my!!!!Oh my, is right!! Did you see Frequency? That was the first time I ever saw Jim Caviezel. He is starring as Jesus in the new Mel Gibson film about the Passion and Death. It is being spoken in the actual languages of the region at the time of Jesus with NO SUBTITLES! I've heard it was a grueling experience for the cast and crew, but a very spiritual one as well.
To: Corin Stormhands
He is... (another blue eyed Jewish, handsome Messiah right out of Hollywood) The only exception is Jim is a believer big time.

Wasn't he in
Angel Eyes with J. Lo?
He is what I call "hauntingly handsome".
I could get lost in those eyes of his.

I've seen Frequency, High Crimes, and Count of Monte Cristo. The Count is a fabulous movie. I just bought it off ebay.

I haven't seen Angel Eyes yet. And I could get lost in those eyes of him. (Do we sound like we are 17?)

It is being spoken in the actual languages of the region at the time of Jesus with NO SUBTITLES! I've heard a lot of criticism of that. But I think it will be great. Some of the visuals from the filming are incredible. There's none of that whitewashing of how gruesome the crucifixion really was.
To: carton253
The Count is a fabulous movie. Hmmm...another one to add to Netflix...
To: Corin Stormhands; SuziQ
I don't understand doing that.
Who will see it if they can't understand it?

Who will see it if they can't understand it? I will. Admittedly, I already know the story.
To: HairOfTheDog
Mel gives his reason that the story transcends the language... that even if it were in Aramaic, Hebrew, and Latin that people will understand what is going on... it adds power to the story because the audience is transported by the visuals and not by the words.
