Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

We get a few tornados over here too with spring and summer thunderstorms. Not so many and most not as strong as in the Midwest, but they'll still toss your car and tear up your house.
I'll keep basements in mind if I end up out there. Wonder if the house my boss found escaped.

Uh, can we talk about X-Men or are we limited to "Whoa...."
I just got back. I thought it was great, and so was the Matrix trailer, but I have a lot of X-Men related questions I was hoping Bear could answer. Maybe in a Freepmail if we don't want our thread going fannish for something else.
The first batch of essay questions:
What the heck is up with Wolverine? Who was he before he got adamantium bones?
Who is the female version of Wolverine? I thought a particular mutation would only show up in one mutant, so why does she also have magic healing powers?
Is there more backstory with that Stryker guy than they gave us?
Were Jean and Cyclops actually married, or just living together?
Um, and if we're not restricted to "Wow", I have actual comments about the movie I'd love to make.

if they felt safe to come in the yard, Gidget would get themWell, we don't have any pets. The neighbors have dogs, but they have an invisible fence, so don't come over to get the bunnies. The bunnies must know it because they'll hop right across the yard in full view of the dogs, almost like they're saying Nyahh, Nyahh!!
We have a new cat in the neighborhood that has decided he likes to sit under our deck, and the bunnies will stay away when he's around. SSQ wants to borrow our oldest son's paintball gun and whack it with a clear paintball so the cat will get the message, but it's owners won't know we shot it! LOL!

he'll slap until the donkey kicks W. out of the White House.Wow! What a great job, Lil Freeper! I guess those donkeys are going to be black and blue before old Rev. Al gets done, cause I don't think they're gonna be able to kick Dubya out!

We gotta make sure we have plenty of dip items and snack foods like that at EntmootOh yeah! And none of that healthy veggies and dip, either! Bean dip with tortillas, onion dip with tater chips, nacho flavored doritos, all washed down with beer or soft drinks. If all of us are eating it, we won't care about bad breath!

I am watching a movie with talking trees.Babes in Toyland?
To: SuziQ
LOL! - But if he has never been hit by one.... let your hubby know that paintballs hurt like heck. I wouldn't be surprised if it would really injure a small animal... they will leave a softball-size welt on a person if hit from close range.
I think yelling at kitty or perhaps spraying her with the hose would be better!

Wizard of Oz.
I just found this on another thread, and it's one of those gotta-share pictures. Actually, it's a modification of a now-famous photo.

Were there talking trees in Babes in ToylandYes! "This is the Forest of No Return". LOL!! Amazing that I remember that. In my Senior year of High school, I was President of the Thespian Club, (I know you can't believe that because I seem like such a shy, retiring type) and as such, was Stage Manager of our annual variety show. We used a "Babes in Toyland" theme, and I remember the trees that we painted as backdrop, and which we used in the scene where they talk and sing that song.

Those aren't the Babes I remember. How about these?
