Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Okay, I have to go make a speech and all that gunk. I won't be back for 3 or 4 hours. Continue making plans with me included! If needed I will come up with Carton's deposit.

Dittos to what Corin and Wneighbor said.
Don't let today's financial situation determine whether or not you stay at the castle. I've just sent $50 now, but I will send some every month until I pay up the rent and deposit. Then, I will have money available to fork out any extra we may need to cover anyone who is short, as well as, have cash to buy groceries and drinks!
Do what you can! I'd love to have you at the castle with us!

as long as someone hangs out with me while I cook so I don't feel left out of the action. I'll be happy to help with that Ruthy. I'm used to cooking for crowds!
To: ksen
I have a B. J.'s card, so we could use that to buy food, TP, all those necessities.
To: RMDupree
That's why I plan to have the liquor in the kitchen with me at all times! Hehehehe!Heh, Heh, Just noticed that; you must cook like I do!!
To: SuziQ
Cool! The more, the merrier!
Actually, experience has proven that the kitchen ends up being the hang out at most get-togethers while the food is being prepared. We'll have lots of company, and if not, we'll have lots of drinks! :)
The sound of the blender usually draws a crowd!

Hi everyone! I just got back from driving by the castle. It looks good. Those of you staying in hotels the castle is about 10 miles south of the nearest hotels. So figure probably a 15-20 minute ride to and from the castle.
As far as cars go, I can probably arrange to pick up those who need rides from the Orlando airport. There is also an airport right in Melbourne, but it will probably be cheaper to fly into Orlando.

OK so here is the breakdown of how much it would cost and when to do the castle (
http://www.floridavacations.com/fv/1786.html ).... sending this to everyone so disregard if you have already told me to blow the castle out my shorts!
I have increased the split up to 20 people because I am an optimist. There are 9 'signed up' already, and that doesn't count carton yet, or Ramius whoe aren't registered at the yahoo yet (I will send you the info in a minute carton)
so.... see below! The money would be sent to ksen.
So the whole cost is $2335 rent plus $2000 deposit.
Needed now: Rental Deposit to hold it:
$535 / 20 = $27
$535 / 19 = $28
$535 / 18 = $30
$535 / 17 = $31
$535 / 16 = $33
$535 / 15 = $36
$535 / 14 = $38
$535 / 13 = $41
$535 / 12 = $45
$535 / 11 = $49
$535 / 10 = $54
Needed July: Remainder of Rent
$1,800 / 20 = $90
$1,800 / 19 = $95
$1,800 / 18 = $100
$1,800 / 17 = $106
$1,800 / 16 = $113
$1,800 / 15 = $120
$1,800 / 14 = $129
$1,800 / 13 = $138
$1,800 / 12 = $150
$1,800 / 11 = $164
$1,800 / 10 = $180
Needed September - Damage Deposit (this part would be refunded later)
$2,000 / 20 = $100
$2,000 / 19 = $105
$2,000 / 18 = $111
$2,000 / 17 = $118
$2,000 / 16 = $125
$2,000 / 15 = $133
$2,000 / 14 = $143
$2,000 / 13 = $154
$2,000 / 12 = $167
$2,000 / 11 = $182
$2,000 / 10 = $200

Thanks for checking it out, ksen! I wish I was in the neighborhood so I could help you with some of the legwork.
Do the owners have any other pics of the place online? A couple of the ones on the florida vacations website are too dark to really see anything.

Dang, Hair! That is pretty awesome!
OK, well I've already mailed out a $50 check to ksen for the deposit part and by July, I think we'll have a solid idea of who is going in on the castle and who isn't.
I'll be ready to contribute! Especially by July!

Any needed cleaning costs (@$15/hr) will be deducted from the security deposit. So the cleaner we leave the place, the better. Other than that it takes a couple weeks to get the sec. dep. back.

Cool, I will be sending my $50 too, as soon as my checks arrive in the mail (should be any day) I let myself run out of checks, so I have been saving a lot of money!
To: ksen
We'll leave the place spic and span! Oh, by the way, are you counting my contribution yet?

Thinking of that place makes me want another one of those burgers there. We had the pizza and salad which were excellent! Oh, and a bunch of fat-tires which helped to kinda land our espresso buzz, so we could pay attention better. lol, you remember this was the night I was fastest on the draw for the free tickets. lol
To: RMDupree
Yeah, I had yours counted in there.
