The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, the cost depends how many we get. ksen, do I have the fees right?
Here is the website for the castle place:
http://www.floridavacations.com/fv/1786.html 15 = 156 rent + 133 (15 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
14 = 167 rent + 143 (14 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
13 = 180 rent + 154 (13 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
12 = 195 rent + 167 (12 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
11 = 212 rent + 182 (11 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
10 = 234 rent + 200 (10 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
9 = 259 rent + 222 (9 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
8 = 292 rent + 250 (8 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
7 = 334 rent + 286 (7 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
6 = 389 rent + 333 (6 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
5 = 467 rent + 400 (5 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
4 = 584 rent + 500 (4 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
3 = 778 rent + 667 (3 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
2 = 1168 rent + 1000 (2 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
1 = 2335 rent + 2000 (1 / 2000 Deposit returned afterwards)
If we don't get at least 10 or twelve, we won't do it. The kids don't count at all, and I would only charge for one member of a spousal unit, but ksen thinks I am bein' too fair. Certainly the more we get, the cheaper it is.

Have you guys seen this I've seen that, but haven't figured out if it's just a joke or if you can actually order the stuff! Pretty funny, in either case...
To: HairOfTheDog
Ok, we can do it per HHD'er. So far I think we have:
1) Hair
2) Corin
3) Ruthy
4) ksen
Have I missed anyone? Anyone want their name added? Hair should we put Ramius down?

To: 2Jedismom
That is the total cost, not the per night cost..
It is for a full week, however many days you actually stay.
To: 2Jedismom
For how long again? How many days? 4?The rental will be for one week. However that doesn't commit you to staying for seven days.

Well, for two of us (not counting the kids) for a week, if 10 of us show up, that would mean $500 for that week? Plus $400 for the deposit?

If Steve says ok, we'd have to have a bedroom...otherwise, there's not way.

You would just need to secure it so that air couldn't get under it.Try looking for a sign-making company in your area. You probably want some sort of banner that has those semi-circular flaps cut in it, to let air out. You see them in all thouse outdoor banners.
The company might have some idea on how best to attach it to the roof. When you tell them what it's for, maybe they'll make one for you for free, if they can put their logo on it, too.
If you know what military units are out there, you might want to put their unit crests on the banner. This is where having a professional sign painter on your side would help. But ask the pros, and see what they advise.
If your idea takes off, be sure to contact the base PAO and let them know what you're doing.

PJ-Comix lives in Ft. Lauderdale, should we invite him?

Sam hasn't voted, but he's also said no to the castle.
Should we ping the list again to get people to commit? I'm guessing that g'nad will do the castle. I'm also guessing that Mrs. g'nad isn't coming. But that's just a hunch.

There's
no way...
