Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It's OK if you don't want to do the castle thing... If we get enough people to make it affordable, we will do it. If not, we will be staying at the same hotel as you!
I am surprised 2J doesn't want to stay in the castle though!
There *are* 5 bedrooms available still that aren't claimed!

And I wouldn't want to leave you guys without someone local around to guide you where you wanted to go. ;^) TRANSLATION: He knows we'll need a designated driver...
To: HairOfTheDog
How does that work? - Do they just want one person that can pass a credit check? Is the deposit money still charged or do they just want someone that has a credit card with $2000 available on it?I think they are just looking for a responsible person to be the one to actually sign the lease.
Did you see my #29,987 about how the payments are to be broken up?

I was kind of talking about helping to move one of those vats to north Texas. Hmmm....I guess I could put in for two Roto-vaps...

OK, I voted. I'm still not sure I can come, though, so I'm a little worried about that. I'd hate to be the deciding vote since this may or may not work out!

Isn't it going to be January when we go??Yeah, but it'll still be in the 70's. Isn't that beach weather where you come from? ;^)

How warm will it be then? The kids don't care.
The adults will probably be satisfied with the heated pool. ;^)

Did you see my #29,987 about how the payments are to be broken up? -----um.... yeah [figuring, figuring]
So would you like to be the one that signs the lease since you are local? I don't have bad credit so much as just NO credit, I have never bought a home or had a credit card.... yet.
To: RosieCotton
Heh - we will keep your squishy vote in mind! - I know it will work out for you to come along!
To: Wneighbor
So, have you actually decided to move? I thought you nixed that idea.Welll.....here's the story so far.
I got the official offer from HR, but it didn't include anything as far as relocation (the so-called "verbal" agreement was that they would do something to help me move.) So I'm all ready to tell the boss-man to forget it...was going to tell him this afternoon until I got called into this other staffing guy's office (I'm not exactly sure what his title is. He deals with technical staffing issues but is not part of HR.) He says to hold off until Wednesday on that decision to see what kind of relocation deal he can swing.
Okay...I can hold off until Wednesday.

Well, it's Steve and the boys I'm thinking of...Steve isn't in to this as much as I am and would probably want to go to bed early with the boys. I planted one large pot. That is the one that has grown the most. It has more than doubled in size. The other, that I put in the ground all had some degree of pest damage that couple of days. I put out Sevin dust and another kind of ant stuff because I saw some ants nearby and there have been no further holes in leaves. I'm tickled as can be that they've all got some new growth coming though.

If no one else comes forward I will go ahead and give it a try. I'd hate for us not to get it because of not having stellar credit.
However, if we had the cash then I don't know if that would be that big a problem.
How soon can we come up $535 dollars to get this ball rolling?

I've never seen anybody paint a composition roof. Maybe you could find a tarp done up as a flag.

Trouble is that Dad will flip out if he finds out I'm going...plus he was hoping I'd go to a fiddle camp next summer with my sister, and it's not a cheap one. My sister would love to come to Entmoot, too, but I don't think we can swing both! So we'll see. Maybe we'll start getting multi-hundred dollar wedding gigs? ;-)

Do the bedrooms have separate baths?I don't know. Should I see if they'll give me a tour?
