The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yes... but, it has been awhile since Smeagol spammed. Smeagol has been very, very good. Sometimes Smeagol can't help herself... She is thinking of going to a 12 step program.

and advance plans for a Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel type crossing to Cuba. Sheesh! I get antsy enough on just 19 miles on the Bay bridge...

I was on that once... I was about 14.

The Narnia books are great, but they are children's books... Yes, they are written for children. But there's a lot of depth in there that children will miss. You would like them carton.
To: Corin Stormhands
Have you been good... in terms of the religious wars.

They are far away (and it's possible D.C. may yet get in the mix) but the best opportunities seemed to be away from here. The Boise opportunity is just marvelous and the interest is hot, so I'm pretty excited about that over the long term. We are prepared to move, indeed, our wanderlust, adventurous side actually is pushing us in that direction anyway.
I'm prepared for a move, the economy here is just so bad and the kinds of interest I'm getting from here just doesn't match up. But this process will take some time to finalize -- I'm getting good response and connecting in a lot of places, but things must yet develop.

But she cheatses...

I was on that once... I was about 14. It's actually a lot better than it would have been then. In the last few years they've added a second span so that you have two lanes in each direction, with the exception of the tunnels.
And they straightened it out so you don't feel like you're bouncing across.

I am averse to land-locked states.
And the eastern seaboard, because the waves would be going the wrong direction. Wouldn't be natural!

One of the big draws about Boise (other than it's growing and a pretty hot market) is the lifestyle. Low cost of living, when I sell my house here in Olympia, I'll practically get a mansion for the money there. A great ski resort, Bogus Basin, is 15 minutes away. The hiking and fishing in the summers is beyond compare. 2 hours from Sun Valley and only about 8 hours drive to Park City.
And the job is a fastball right down the middle for me -- a really good one. That one's going to be hard to beat.
