The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

My wife has SAD, which is another reason to move and we both have allergies, which is another (everything in the world grows up here -- including mold and mildew at a frightening pace).
Tacoma, where that Police Chief did the attempted murder/suicide thing, is the suicide capital of the U.S.

I thought you might. :)

BTW, it appears one of those lost in Afghanistan was from Oklahoma. I'll let everyone know more when I know.

Seattle borders Mordor -- Olympia is Mordor. If you can imagine San Francisco and Berkeley, Seattle and Olympia are political twins to these, with worse weather. I've lived here all my life...and I'm a bit tired of the oppressive Stalinist politics (having had those politics cause me to lose my job didn't help) and, really, the weather gets a bit much after awhile (a couple of years ago we had 93 straight days of rain -- imagine, three months with dark black clouds 50 feet over your head, and it gets pretty dark up here in the winter anyway). Gosh.... I kinda feel guilty for loving it here!

Well, good for us, it seems there is a camo for every season and application.

Ok, here are the pictures. You can't see Matthew but he's nearly right under the big screen on the left. This is just the 1-6th graders...the preschoolers and kindergartners were in front and have already gone down to their parents.

Now this is Matthew and Joshua, standing before the display of the deployed in our church...

How'd you explain *my* sunny disposition?Your lawnmowers and your furry house companions!

Hullo! - I was puttering around.... It's warm out. left the horses out here in the yard for a while. Too nice out still to put them in bed.

I very much consider it was meant as a compliment.

Very cute! - Man you have a big church! - I was brought up in a little tiny rural church! Maybe 200 people would fill it!

Yep. You could add another 50-75 kids to it, because the younger ones were already gone.
I taught 2 year olds last Sunday you know? Substituted? There were 19 2 year olds in our class and it was one of four 2 year old classes.
It's a massive church. But you can find your niche...mine is the homeschool group, and I like to work in the library. I also like it that you can kinda get lost in it! LOL

Also, we use it like a "school district". Matthew and now Joshua have grown with a large group of friends, dispite the fact that they've never stepped foot in a school.

Oh, ours is "uptempo" just not a lot of tongues. There are some instances, but not widespread, at least on Sunday mornings.
