Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

YOur fellow hobbit is doing good...fixin to storm here on the Gulf coast....have you heard...Master and Commander has been bumped to November! Waaaah...but apparently Boyd has a pretty big part, so I am hoping it will be worth the wait...

and the ROTK release has been bumped to next May right?

I didn't mean to click on it, and as soon as I did I got a dialogue box I couldn't get out of without Cntrl-Alt-Delete and a warning from PC-Cillan, my virus checker.

Not able to say anything more about what it was, PC-Cillan didn't give me a lot of info to look up at Trend.

I just sit here wishing I could find the right words to make it all better. But I can't and you know that. You're just going to have to let it heal over time.

Don't feel bad about bringing it here to the Hole. That's what we're here for. Your ordeal with Zulu is no less important than the leak in 2Js kitchen, Scott's hunt for employment or my trying to keep Jr. from becoming a juvenile delinquent.

We all have good days and bad days, and some days you just need to get out and blow some stink off (as a dwarf, I know that well).

We're all indebted to you Hair for keeping the Hole going and for giving us this place of refuge. That's what it is. It's an escape from the crap we all have to shovel daily. It's a reminder that there is indeed good in the world.

It's a reminder that there is still hope.

So talk about it, or don't talk about it, whatever you need. Either way, we're not going anywhere.

I just picked a large salad consisting of green leafy lettuce, red "oak leaf" lettuce and some beautiful white raddishes! I'm going to slice up some ham and some eggs (both left over from Easter dinner at Mom's) and some cheddar cheese and slather the whole thing in blue cheese dressing. MMMM!

They all link to a site that has a "what are you" quiz that is benign, but one of their pop-ups contains a virus that locked up my IE and tried to do *something*. (see 28,205 and 206)

I would hate for our late-comers to click the test before they see the warning.

Scott's hunt for employment

I had a big event in my job hunt today: My big "Launch" -- 802 letters and resumes sent out to potential employers around the west. Wow...that was a big project. Now it's on to handling the replies, making the telephone calls to follow on and the road show for interviews. Hope I get lucky.
