The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I can't see the picture here at work. I'm guessing it's blocked by the Gestapo...

I like doing jigsaw puzzles. I still stink at sewing, though. My sisters are into the sewing and knitting stuff.

oooooo yuk dentist.... i'm so sorry. I'd rather go to Ruthy's emergency room horrors than the dentist.

It wasn't that bad. Just five minutes to glue it back on, using a different brand of glue this time.

For me, the biggest agony is keeping my mouth open. This cap was made to fix a broken tooth I got from a chunk of bone in hamburger. That was 45 minutes of keeping my mouth clamped open, and would usually be agony for me. But the dentist suggested nitrous oxide, and that left me slightly drowsy with a don't-give-a-damn attitude to the construction work in my mouth. I'll go with nitrous again if I ever set foot in his office.

Those platform shoes just MAKE the scene!

I have only ever had cleanings done... I have never had a cavity!

(good Nordic bones or floride in the childhood water supply, you be the judge!)

I read that thread and laughed myself silly.

I'm happy that I haven't grown so stale in life that I can't find humor in these kind of silly, childish things. I still laugh at the fart scene in Blazing Saddles!

Corin, I printed out that chocolate bunny cartoon to show to my little brother. (He likes cartooning, so I thought he'd get a kick out of it.) He liked it, but Dad LOVED it. It's on their fridge now. Go figure!

The Mrs. Easter Bunny and I almost blew it in the Stormhands household. Jr. rarely asks for anything in his basket except a big hollow chocolate bunny. We didn't buy them when they were first in the stores, so it was literallyl about 10:00 on Saturday night when the Mrs. found one at Walgreens.

I just love Madeleine L'Engle!

I've heard rumors that they're going to make a TV mini-series of A Wrinkle in Time. I don't get TV, so it won't matter to me until if / when it comes out on video / DVD, but maybe you guys can watch it?

Well, back from figure drawing class. Today was the last day of the werewolf.

Corin that thread is hilarious, or at least some of the posts were.
