The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Didn't we at least have trailers by now on the others?
I may hold out for the extended DVD on TT.
To: Sam Cree
they smell like a baby.Hmm, I haven't smelled enough babies to make the connection.
I like the way skunks smell, too, but they don't smell anything like babies or dogs! ;)
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Oh - well that won't be so hard then! - They might actually get that done in two weeks! ;~D You may find yourself quite content in the manufactured home! - They ain't like your cousin Billy-Bob's trailer anymore!

Hair; I got Susan her first shotgun while we were dating. Now there's a confident man!!

I bought some trees that give off an odor like skunks and planted them in my yard. The are a Florida native, white stoppers they are called. Jeanne wouldn't let me put them too near the house, though.

Lavender will do that too! If you plant it close by the front walk where folks can brush it as they go by, it releases the most heavenly fragrance! Lavender is one of my favorite fragrances and is actually the reason I've started a big landscape thing in my yard. It won't grow here so I'm going to make it grow here!

Hair; I got Susan her first shotgun while we were dating. A friend's husband bought her a 9MM on their first anniversary, I assume that means it is going well. (I am not sure I would have armed this particular chick, but it is not my affair! ;~D)

Are you getting both DVD's then?
I just got back from weekly dance lesson. Found out that the dance instructors are conservatives politically, surprise, artists usually fall for socialism.

We're aiming to be moved in by the end of May, but we'll see how fast they can get it together... and how fast we can get ready to move...
I agree about the manufactured homes, though I've had some trouble convincing Rose. The style we're looking at is a 4 bedroom 2 bath home that actually has more square feet than the 4 bedroom 2 bath house we're currently renting!
I'm quite excited about the possibilities....

Didn't we at least have trailers by now on the others? Yes. The 4 min in-theater preview of TTT came out last week in March.
The first TTT official trailer didn't come out till end of June though, and the second one end of Sept.

Mine was a few months before 21. I was needing it.
To: Sam Cree
Are you getting both DVD's then? Yes, I have to, >>and so does everyone I sent cookies to <<. That is the way we stay honest, and there will be interesting new tidbits on it that are worth having!
The extended doesn't come out till November! - I will get a good three month's use out of the theatrical.

Heh, my Rose doesn't like the smell of skunks either... whenever we pass a passed-on skunk, she holds her nose while I take a big deep breath. :)
Dead Texas skunks don't smell as strongly as dead Upper Michigan skunks, by the way.
To: HairOfTheDog
You are probably right, it's worth the money to get to see it a few times. I may give in and get it also. Honestly.

White stopper, Eugenia axilaris
This species, also known as the stink bush, has a foul, skunk-like smell that emanates from its leaves when the wind blows. However, the leaves of this species have been used medicinally to treat diarrhea.

However, it's much less strong than a real skunk, which is a little much for me. But if you ever walk or drive through what's left of the South Florida jungle (not very much anymore), there is usually always evident a faint skunk smell from these things. They are cool.

Hi guys.... I need to vent here and get some sympathy, so please don't say I'm a killjoy... this is shaping up to rival the year I drove my sibs to DC for a funeral as "worst Easter season ever".
First off, my little brother seems to be losing his hearing and my mother's worried about that, naturally, though it doesn't seem to be getting worse.
Then my good-for-nothing uncle is threatening suicide, which means my grandparents keep calling here all freaked. Ugh.
Worse yet, my other grandmother is having surgery for carpal tunnel tomorrow and will spend three to six days incapacitated at our house. She is gloomy and dismal at the best of times. It's going to be living hell. My parents are going out all day Saturday, and I can't. I'm going to be entertaining her, which means doing what she likes, mostly watching really boring movies starting long-dead talentless hacks.
And worse yet, she's taking over MY room! My sanctuary, my one place where I can have a single thought to myself in this whole house, or read or relax or use my computer or do homework, and she's taking it! I get to sleep on the couch. My possessions will be open for her to inspect. I expect a critique of my taste in books. Not that my grandmother has taste of her own but she hates SF.
So I won't be on much this weekend, I think. Ugh.

Poor Jen. Cut her off at the pass and rent some of the really good movies by long-dead actors, like Casablanca, Fiddler on the Roof, The Ten Commandments!
Sorry about the rest of the stuff going on. Family is for taking on the stuff that friends wouldn't put up with!

Can I disinherit myself, just temporarily?
I'll get over it. But I get to sulk first. Tomorrow will only be minor hell, since I'll be at work all day and can hopefully bash myself into unconsciousness sometime tomorrow night. Saturday will suck beyond all reason. Saturday is my sleeping in day, my being online day, my reading day!
I'm going to spit teeth at someone if I get any madder!
