Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I just signed off the thread, more or less.
I mean seriesly, he said that he considered "Lincoln the Saviour of America just as Christ was the Saviour of Mankind."
And ALL I SAID was that, while I was actually a southernor who admired Lincoln, I thought the comparison, especially during Holy Week was repulsive.
Then this bozo starts callin' me an un-American David Duke lover.

Hi! I'm back. Trying to fill out this stupid application and I can't remember some obscure supervisor's last name. Think I'll put "Joe Something that starts with a 'P'".

I am in there too now! - You didn't ping us when you were ready!

Why do you admire Lincoln? :)
To: Overtaxed

Chat won't let me in...everybody hates me...
To: Corin Stormhands
Are you on the new system? Is the error similar to what was happening on the old system?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Tried to go there twice and I was "in" but no one else was. Then next time got an error message. I had to say yes again to download the Yahoo chat stuff. Think I need to reboot?
To: Corin Stormhands
I went over and posted. That irritates me. Sounds like a discussion I had as a guest at dinner a couple of weeks ago. Then the guy has his wife send me an email this week that it's time for us to come to their house for dinner again so he can debate the "war betweent the states" with me again. Then, the wife says that he made sure she called it the war between the states in the email because he's spent 2 weeks researching this portion of history on the internet and wants to meet me using "our" terms.
Guess who's not coming to dinner.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
back there in a second. to chat that is.
To: Wneighbor
Thanks for the back-up. The idiot responded back to you.
He's just showin' his backside now.
To: Corin Stormhands
:D
To: Corin Stormhands
Rebooting might help!
To: Wneighbor
Guess who's not coming to dinner.Tell him you're planning on having a headache that night.
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, I waited, then I left. You know something - sounds really wimpy - but one reason I lurked for so long was that I would read posts like that and get so mad. I figured it wasn't worth the walking around mad at the people on the internet. Of course, I kept lurking and reading. But, you know, I have all the stupid people in real life that I can deal with without putting in more cyberidiots.
To: Wneighbor
Oh! Sorry I forgot about chat view! I meant to come but I completely forgot and it's now too late, I have to get settled down....
I'll really really try to make the next one...

I used to like Wild Turkey, but am not sure what about it now that I've seen it belongs to a French companyYeah, that is a MAJOR bummer! SSQ loves Wild Turkey for sippin whiskey!
To: Corin Stormhands
Wow.... as a Northern who does not admire Lincoln, though I think the Civil War may have been a good thing in the end, I completely agree with your statement.
I know Jesus, and Lincoln was no Jesus ;-)
