Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I took a pic of Frodo at the Narrows today, but I wimped out and took the pic from a hill overlooking the bridge and the perspective is all wrong. It lacks artistic drama.
Plus, Mount Rainier is there in the background, but it is masked in clouds. Need a clear day!
I may go back, I wasn't a long ways from where I needed to be, I just may need to hike down the hill off the road a bit!

the perspective is all wrongHmmm, I dunno... it has kind of a "Monster Frodo attacks Tokyo" feel to it... I kinda like it!

I really should take it from *on* the bridge, but it is too windy to let go of him to take the picture. He'd end up in the drink, or in traffic, for sure!

"My friends think I am a little weird!" Apple pie and cheese is a fairly old tradition, far as I know, but lots of folks look at you sideways if you mention it.
Wonder how cheddar is on lembas?

Can't believe I beat Corin in this morning. Must still be recovering from dwarfmoot.
OT, I'll get ya the recipe this evening and no, you don't really need a springform pan. I make mine in a round cake pan lined with foil- it pops out quite nicely.

Who gets him next? - No one has a scheduled time till June! So one of these folk want to go next? Well...some of the things I want to do with him are dependant on the snow actually melting, so I'd better be a bit later! Is there an opening in, say, July?
