Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, if one of you would make a trip to Mount Rushmore, I would be impressed to see him there!Gee. I knew he needed a bike trip. I didn't know you needed me to take him all the way to Sturgis. But, that sounds like a plan! I'll be going to Gulfport at the end of next month too. Think he needs to just make a whole season if biker events?
what kind of tattoo would you like him to get?

I'm so glad your revelation came so early in life. I don't remember my Daddy ever being explicit about it, but somehow I knew all during my growing up that girls didn't let guys beat up on them.My grama raised me to know that. I was blessed. My dad wasn't present much, - HOWEVER, after the restraining order the abuser returned once and daddy gave me my first handgun. Instructions for use were shoot to kill, if you take it out and don't empty it to kill him I'll use it on you. daddy is a little on the redneck side too.

Wow... that's pretty amazing. My mother's told me enough never to let anyone push me around or abuse me. I can only imagine how grateful you must be to your gran.

It's supposed to be two dashed...like two closed eyes. But I'm on the old old PC out on the screened in porch (the boys have taken over the new PC and the mac) so I don't know exactly what it is that I pushed! LOL

I'm so glad that Steve is such a gentle person...the worst thing he does is pout (which is annoying at the most).
But then again, he is well aware that I know, as a nurse, exactly where to smack a cast iron skillit on his head to keep him in diapers the rest of his life.

My mother's told me enough never to let anyone push me around or abuse me.I think it's great now that most women are brought up to know we don't have to deal with it. Also, the first time I ever called and tried to get into a women's shelter I was told there was a 2 year waiting list. That was in 1976. That wasn't in this state but now I know that at least in Waco that is not a problem.

exactly where to smack a cast iron skillit on his head to keep him in diapers the rest of his life. ROFL!!! wish i'd known that about 27 years ago. :-) on second thought, probably better i didn't. i'd be in jail instead of in the hobbit hole.

People are more understanding these days, I think. They don't leap to conclusions...
I will say that wherever I end up, I will make sure I do not have to depend on anyone for survival. That might be hard, if I ever get married and have kids, because my field is so quick to change. But... one just never knows what may happen.

But now I've found I don't really want to pop corn!

Oh! I found the directions! They were actually imbedded in the plastic under the price sticker!
I use four ounces of popcorn!
