Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good Lord! She's forty-years-oldI'm laughing. Sounds like fun. I still hoped to perhaps have another one at 40. Mentioning that among family raised as many protests as invading Iraq.
BTW - I'M OVER THAT NOW!

Morning one and all!
I've whipped up some scrambled and fried eggs, along with the must-have bacon and sausage platters (6 of each). Hash browns are in the skillet, OT! Coffee is brewed and juices are chilled. ENJOY!
Argh - Sometimes I really worry about you! LMAO! *wink*
Wneighbor - So what do you think we can do to cheer her up?
Lil' freeper - How's Wyatt this morning? He's so cute!

Ok...what does RFA stand for?
Stop adding initials to your tagline LOL

Someone got on the loud speaker on top of the mosque (sp?) telling them all to back away from the statue lol. It'd be a shame if people got hurt when that thing comes down!
A US tank moved in to help them bring it down...a heavy duty chain just went around it.

just getting a package from home made me feel less isolatedI'm afraid I'm not as good as I should be about this. However, my mom and her M-I-L and one of the aunts-in-law send stuff all the time. I email. and email. and email.....
To: RMDupree
Mmmmm...sausage...
To: Dawntreader
OH You're so blessed that you're getting to watch that! Keep up the reports!
To: Wneighbor
I still hoped to perhaps have another one at 40. Well, we certainly didn't plan it. With my cancer history we were convinced that we couldn't and had given up any hope years before. When my wife first got the symptoms, she was certain she had ovarian cancer, which her sister had at about the same age.
Doctor said, "we'll test for cancer, early menopause, and while we're at it do a pregnancy test."
She just looked at him and said "you do understand the irony in that, don't you?"
To: Dawntreader
Ok...what does RFA stand for? Nope. Sorry. That one has to be figgered out...
To: Wneighbor
You know what would be fun? If we could have a sort of virtual shower for her! Think she'd like that? I know it's kind of early for a shower, but I don't think that matters.
To: Wneighbor
I'm very happy to be able to see it too...and on Fox News :-D Luckily the local Fox station is one of the stations that come in good so that's how I'm seeing it.

Good Morning, morning shift!
Do I have to wake up yet? - I was up late too!
But at the moment it is sunny. Soggy from pouring and blowing all night, but with the morning comes clearing! Hopefully it will stay!
OK - So sending chocolate to Germany is like sending Vanilla to France.
American condiments sound like an odd gift from us, "Mom, why are your hobbit friends sending me ketchup?" But what do I know! LOL! I will go with anything you all think would be neat.
Good luck on your interview OT!

Thinking? In the morning? Before I've had my coffee? :-P
To: RMDupree
Morning Ruthie.
BACON!!! Now, I'm hungry.
I really am trying to think of things she would like. Anytime she mentions things I send them ASAP but don't really know what to send for treats and surprises.
She doesn't read much because she doesn't have enough time - the kids she has with her are 2 and 5. Sadly, the thing she needs most and that I would most like to do for her is give her some down time for herself. And can't you just imagine how much Granny would love to take those kids off her hands for a day or 2 or 3 or 4?

Shots were heard...the crowd really didn't react. I guess gunfire has been heard off and on for a while now. Goodness...the tank has a crane on it. I didn't know they could do that.... So they are going to use the crane to take the statue down.
To: Corin Stormhands
God's so good. And, in my life at least, he really likes irony too. :-)

To: Wneighbor; All
LOL! 2 marines climbed the crane and are hooking the chain up to the crane or whatever they are doing. And then they took the US flag and covered Saddam's face with it LOL
Isn't that desecrating the flag though? ;-)
To: Wneighbor; All
And the flag was just taken off and is now being waved by an Iraqi. That's even better.
