The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Just like I pictured you, except for the wig and funny outfit! I don't know, somehow the wig and funny outfit just screams CORIN!! LOL! And yes, Jr. is a fine looking young man!

It's my job to worry, even when things are okayOf course you are right. And my job as a friend is to tell you not to worry! It is all about the rituals.
To: SuziQ; HairOfTheDog
I don't know, somehow the wig and funny outfit just screams CORIN!! I'm not sure how to take that! But I think I got that role because they know I won't hesitate to make a fool of myself onstage.
Of course it was acting, but I played that role a little skippy...just like an elf...
To: HairOfTheDog
It is all about the rituals. Indeed. And the scary thing is that part of what I'm trying to teach him are the rituals...you know, like that hat conversation we had the other day...;-)
To: HairOfTheDog; All
Speaking of rituals, we're heading to North Carolina tomorrow to have Christmas with the wife's family, so I need to sign off for now.
I'm probably not back before Monday night. G'nite all.
To: HairOfTheDog
I think FR just burped. I got a DNS error for a few minutes.Wonder if it's the same thing that was happening to me last night. It's working again, by the way.
To: Corin Stormhands
Goodnight Corin! Have fun with the inlaws! :~D
To: ecurbh
Well, my burp only lasted about the amount of time it probably took to reboot a server. Not very long. But maybe!
Welcome back!

I went to Ian McKellan's site tonight. I go there so you don't have to! He often has a lot of good info in his Q&A.
And here is a jewel I hadn't even considered! (The bold and underlined part)
Q: Have you seen the French and Saunders send up of the FOTR and did you enjoy it?
A: Yes and enjoyed it so much that I called the director Ed Bye (Ruby Wax's partner) and asked him to send Peter Jackson a copy. He loves it too. I hope he will want to include it on the bumper DVD (blooper reel and all) which is planned following the release of The Return of the King. I haven't seen the apparently racier parody on MTV.
Now that will be fun!
To: Penny1
I hate to have to order it from Amazon, but the way it's going I may have to! I ordered mine from Amazon yesterday -- and it shipped the same day! I seem to get everything from Amazon these days.

But I think I got that role because they know I won't hesitate to make a fool of myself onstage. Somehow I got that idea, that's why I said that outfit just screamed CORIN!!!

Blooper reel?????? OOhhhhhh! That will be FUN! :)

I order almost everything from Amazon too...I suppose perhaps I'll do that anyway. I like ordering stuff for myself that way, but I'm not so excited about buying presents for other people there...I guess there's just something about hunting around for something in the stores that makes me feel like it's more personal. Don't exactly know why, though, LOL....

I guess there's just something about hunting around for something in the stores that makes me feel like it's more personal. You can hunt on the web as well! I found a great pair of over-boots for SSQ on the web. They are overshoes that come up to the shins and keep out snow etc. He needed some to wear over his sneakers because that's what he wears to work and he didn't want to have to put on boots, then have to take them off again at work. I had planned to order them from LL Bean, but they were out of stock. I did a Google search and found several other places selling them, one was $20 cheaper! They turned out to fit him perfectly and he just loves them.
I did about 75% of my Chirstmas shopping online this year. It was very convenient, and I got things the kids had asked for, and found some neat surprises for them too!

I got a thrill when my Dad opened his gift this year...I had hunted down an old, out-of-print book on the early days of logging in the Pacific Northwest and ordered it used from Powell's. He was so excited, he could hardly contain himself.... That was pretty fun!
Well, if I can't get to Barnes & Noble tomorrow (they're supposed to have gotten a shipment in that just needed to be unpacked), then to Amazon I will go. I'm sure my brother won't care HOW I get it for him, as long as he can have it!

Hey Penny - Or any other west coasters...
I just woke up and turned the TV on... Sean Astin is gonna be on the Late Late show - Craig Kilborn... in a few minutes. CBS.
To: All
Good morning all!
Sean was nice on Craig K. last night. Talked about meeting his wife, they have been married 10 years. He graduated from UCLA. Majored in History and Literature.
To: HairOfTheDog
Hmmm....so what was he planning on doing with a History and Literature major? If he was planning on acting wouldn't he major in drama or something?
To: JameRetief; RMDupree; Corin Stormhands
We also have PS2 in living room for DVD watching. The sound is not good. Low and muffled. Got a new DVD player for Christmas and looking forward to watching it, and hearing it too, from the LR TV.
To: Overtaxed
Or, if he was planning on acting, he would not have HAD to graduate at all... I don't know. Maybe he was just interested in it.
He came off as a pretty nice guy. I think this is the first interview I have seen of him in the "real world" outside the edited DVD peices...
