Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

LOL Oh, Hair...you gotta see this piglet movie to understand what I mean...it's not silly or funny at all when they get "emotional". It's very depressing!
Same as the Tigger Movie...Tigger can't find his movie and basically throws a temper tantrum and the whole nine yards.
It's just too much serious hystrionics for my taste.

I did some more shopping at lunch time. No luck on tropical chocolate at hunting/camping stores. I just don't think it's made any more. About the only thing that comes close are some of the "chocolate"-covered treats in MREs. I remember when Eddie Bauer had tropical chocolate bars in a big bin. Of course, that was in the days when it was a real hunting/camping store, and actually sold
guns.
As far as compact binoculars go, it looks like the best plan would be for me to buy some online from Sportsman's Guide, and have them shipped to 2J. I've seen them here in the stores for $17, but then there's that lovely 6% Michigan tax, plus postage anyway. So as soon as I get the okay, I'll make a buy.
And I'll keep that cheapie I showed yesterday. The cost of postage is more than it's worth. I'll just buy one more online to replace it.

Isn't it a bummer what has happened to Eddie Bauer? - I used to love going there for all the gadgets! Now it is just clothes.

I would just send them if I were you. I'm pretty sure it would be ok. He wrote me back about the things that were not ok to send and didn't mention the binoculars.
If you want to send them, I'll make sure they get there!

OT and Corin my yard work is coming along famously according to me. Good. Good. We'll see if I can get more planted this weekend. I have a couple of more things I want to try to do. Then of course after Easter I'll be replanting all of my m-i-l's stuff.
I'm back on the daffodil thing. I shouldn't have to replant the one's that did okay, should I? In other words, can I go ahead and dig up the ones that didn't bloom and replant and feed them for next year?
To: Wneighbor
Excellent! Still planning on sending the Atomic fireballs?
