The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I will give a detailed report, and I do hope there is a chance to be close up! I don't know what to hope for!

I want to wear a flag pin... I have to find one in town!

Good morning!!

Well, we're here...where's everyone else?

I took the boys to see "Piglet's big movie" yesterday...my mom got free tickets somewhere. Joshua said it was the best movie he'd ever seen in his whole life.

ROFLOL!!

It was really funny, because I thought it was terrible, Matthew was mildly interested, but Joshua just loved it. Must have been geared for a 4 year old.

Yep... the target demo was apparently exactly 4 years old! Why a piglet movie?.... Tigger is more fun.

The Tigger Movie came out a couple of years ago.

Both movies seem to attempt to take the viewer through a series of emotions...like an emotional roller coaster, that I found highly annoying. I mean, really...why does a 4 year old need any kind of downer in a movie, even if it does cheer back up at the end?

I think a good kids movie would make them start laughing right at the start and have them nearly peeing their pants laughing so hard clear to the end.

But that's just me.

I took Becky to see The Tigger Movie when it came out and it was the same story. Very depressing in some parts and Becky lost all interest. It was impossible to get her back "into" the movie. SHe spent the better part of the final hour bouncing around in her seat. Thank goodness the theatre was empty at that point!

I'm glad that you informed me that Piglet's Big Movie is the same so I won't waste my time and money on it. I'll wait for the DVD and rent it then. :)

Luke asks to go see it every time the commercial comes on. But my wife also heard it was pretty bad.

You have Paypal.

Well, Joshua just loved it. But he's very intense and emotional and I really didn't like him getting all depressed at points. He'd look up at me all mournful and I would smile and reassure him.

It's rediculous, imo.

I like Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure. No downers...just goofy funny stuff all the way through. The boys love it.

Oh, and the postage for the shipping of the last five boxes cleared last night through the bank. So all the checks I wrote on that last batch of gifts has cleared.

Morning all. Hope you've all had a glorious week.

Except Ruthy, I'm sorry about your mom but she did make a heroic Grandmotherly save.

And Hair, if you need a flag pin they are all over here. I can mail you one.

And 2J, am putting an envelope with notes and some short inspirational reading stuff in it for you as soon as I get out of this class at 12:30.

Everyone else.... I never have time to catch up on all the posts I miss while I'm working. But miss you all.

OT and Corin my yard work is coming along famously according to me. The city inspector asked me Monday what in the world I was doing in my front yard though. I'm making a new bed with a fallen tree trunk as the center of it. (I said, it'll be good I promise! In 6 weeks you'll love it!)
