Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Goood morning hobbit hole!

Had a very, very strange start to the day. My new Jeep was broken into last night! We are currently in a "nice" condo community on the edge of a little town in MD and had word that the drug dealers are being run out of town, so be on the lookout for suspicous activity. Fortunately, one of the blue-haired busy bodies was awake about 2 AM and observed three individuals going through cars. She called the police and the teens were arrested, thankfully.

Nothing was missing in the Jeep, things were just riffled through. Sunglasses case tossed into the back, a piece of paper that was tucked under the passenger's sunvisor was in the wrong spot, my daytimer was opened and strewn about. They were looking for cash- probably for drugs. CREEPY! So much for the "nice" neighborhood.

It wasn't so bad in that the vehicle is new, I have nothing overly personal in it, and I haven't anthropormorphised it yet. Whereas if they had broken into my pickup- which I've had wild and crazy adventures in, bonded with, and still miss *sniff*- I'd be a mess!

But I think I will take a can of Lysol to everything and try to fumigate the cooties....

Hello one and all! Breakfast time!

I made a breakfast lasagne this morning with scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, green peppers and onions. I've got everything prepared separately as well if anyone wants extras of anything (Yes my Dwarves, there is plenty of bacon!). Coffee is brewed and juices are chilled. ENJOY!

My mom is doing much better. She stayed in bed all day yesterday whilst I dealt with 3 kids (Becky, Alyson and my nephew Daniel - he's 7). Now I am the one who needs to have a day in bed! LOL!! I am beat! Nevertheless, I am so relieved that my mom's knock to the head was not too serious. But boy is it ugly! One of her eyes is completely blackened and swollen in the corners. *shudder* Looks like it hurts but she says it's just tender.

Celebratory prayers and thanksgiving to the Almighty Lord God for His infinite Mercy for bringing Pfc. Jessica Lynch home safely. His Compassion for us knows no bounds and He proves it everyday! Hallelujah! He renews our faith with His miracles and lifts our hearts with evidence of His Love.

I'm glad they caught them, but that's such a pain when it happens.

We had all our cassettes stolen out of our car in a parking garage (yes cassettes, it was the mid-80s), including the tape of our wedding. We were able to replace that, but still we were out over $600 work of tapes.

In our parking lot in Arlington (borderline questionable neighborhood), we actually had someone steal an entire headlight assembly from our Honda.

Well, she was in the garage putting away the mop bucket and had one hand holding the door to the hallway open. Alyson was crawling towards the door and at that moment my mom lost her grip on the door. In order to catch the door before it shut on Alyson's face or fingers, my mom whirled around quickly and caught the corner of the wall (it's L-shaped in there) right between the eyes.

So it's all because of Alyson! LOL!!

Just to show the instincts of a grandmother - my mom still managed to grab the door and pick up Alyson, deposit her in the crib and THEN she finally sat down, reeling from the injury!!
