The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Wow, that's a very impressive production! Hmm... must use thinking skills to deduce which one is you... are you bald follically challenged?

I'm in some of the pictures. You'll have to guess where. Unfair!
Wow - you are right about it being a big production! - Beautiful stage and costumes!

I am out of here for awhile. Gonna read. FR is tickin' me off again just when I was starting to feel chipper.

Wow! Jr is a handsome boy. No wonder you're so proud of him. He's got what I call "shy eyes". *wink*
I'm having a more difficult time discerning which one is you. I've narrowed it down to 2, but would have to take a wild guess from there.
I'd guess you're the chap with the white shirt and suspenders, simply because I cannot picture you dressed up as one of Old King Cole's fiddlers. LOL!

Which thread did it this time?
I try to stay in here as much as possible for just that reason. :)

suspenders s/b sweater. Oops!
To: RMDupree
I think it was the "Gay Gandalf" thread, but I might be wrong.

I'd guess you're the chap with the white shirt and suspenders, simply because I cannot picture you dressed up as one of Old King Cole's fiddlers. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! Indeed I am one of the fiddlers. (those are ALL wigs BTW). The guy in the sweater became King Cole.
If I get a copy of the video, maybe I'll circulate it among the folks here, or at least bring it to Entmoot. The characters from the family in the opening became the characters in Mother Goose, the dream sequence was right out of The Wizard of Oz. Nana became Mother Goose, Cole and Brothers-in-Law became Old King Cole and his fiddlers, the three sisters became the Three Little Pigs, Jack and Jill became, well, Jack and Jill. In the chaos photo you see "Muffy" fainting. Just as the picture was being taken ("last year's" is over the mantle), the little boy in the suspenders dropped a huge spider in front of her, so you know who she became...
I'm amazed at the creative talent there. The concept and set designs were based on Tomie dePaola's Mother Goose and The First Christmas. The First Christmas is a pop-up book that they reproduced to "life size" (so we "fit" on the pages) for the Bethlehem scene.
Hint: Green sweater, fiddler on the left

Well, you're a bit tall for a Dwarf...

"Tall" is such a kind way of putting it. I believe I've 'splained that before...;-)
Dwarfism is a state of mind.

So is Elf-hood ;-)

Figures that I'd guess wrong! *grin*
But now that we see you, I certainly hope Lil'freeper takes more care in her dwarf-bashing!
...You must carry an axe in your "fiddle case" a la gangster, correct? LOL!
To: RMDupree
I am THE threadkiller.
All shall love me and despair.

You're the guy in the green sweater.

Suzi, I was wondering if sometime when you have an hour or so I might pick your brains. As I recall your eldest son is studying computer science here in Pittsburgh and I thought that perhaps you might, from looking at colleges with him, have some idea what the best schools for CS might be. I'm spending some time over the holidays looking at grad schools and trying to figure out where I should apply.

Ksen - I'm (almost) envious. You have a marvelous experience ahead of you!
Of course you did have to wait two weeks longer than anyone else, so... perhaps you could declare yourself to be on Greenwich Mean Time on the 31st. That way, "midnight" would come at 7 eastern and you could get a showing that night!

Or since the movie was filmed in New Zealand, you could switch to their time where it's already tomorrow...(my parents are cruising from New Zealand to Australia today...or is it yesterday?)
To: ksen
You're the guy in the green sweater. Tricksy man of Gondor...
;-)
To: Corin Stormhands
I think it's tomorrow, since you gain a day when you go around the Earth by heading east. (At least that's what I remember from reading Around the World in 80 Days as a small person).
