Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I am watching FOTR ER in the KITCHEN!! Steve's new TV has the plugs that go right to my DVD player and no need for that adapter that I have to have on my old TV! I just put my DVD player on the bar and plugged it into the side of the new TV!!

I love it.

You know, this means I can move the little TV in here and do the simulview, without having to move that old green mac into the livingroom to do it!

I need a new couch more than a new big TV...but boy it sure is easier to hook up the DVD player to this new 13" TV I got for Steve!

I just started on TTT the other day. Making slow progress though - a lot going on right now! Only got to the meeting with the "Rohans" so far. ;-)

None of the churches I've visited in years have been without the clapping. I hate it, personally. I dislike change.

You guys have a problem with scripture?

Us Pentecostals don't have a problem with clapping. That's pretty tame for us.

But don't get you vestments in a bunch. I'm pretty open to different styles of worship. It's one of the things that makes me a heretic over on that forum. I believe God made us as individuals and that we all have individual preferences and tastes, but since He created everything, including our preferences, He enjoys our different forms of worship.

I once ended an argument on an AOL forum (this was years ago) with a person who said they preferred four-part harmony 'cause that was the music God liked. They were deriding the Middle-Eastern type music, so I said "You mean like the kind Jesus would've listened to?"

Middle Eastern music is boring, though. Not as bad as Chinese music!

LOL! I took my best friend (who is Catholic) to a church service and she nearly fainted! HAHAHAHAA!

Of course, being "inter-denominational" you'd think it would be pretty tame - nope.

We clap and sing and shout and dance and speak in tongues - a great big bally-hoo of praise for Christ the King and Redeemer! (Can you tell we edge to the Pentecostal side of the spectrum?)

Compared to the quiet, sedate services she was used too, this was religious anarchy. She enjoyed it though, once she understood that it was a "joyful noise". :)

Also, I love the old hymns more than anything and most churches now sing the 24/7 "praise chorus's" (Sing a 7 word song 24 times) that a brain-dead person could sing.

That really annoys me too. I'll just quit singing.

I love singing, clapping, dancing to old hymns, but can also appreciate newer songs if they have a foundation in Scripture.

You're right about that 'music', OT! My church sings all hymns. It's boring sometimes, not having electric guitars, but it helps me keep my priorities straight.

I don't (yet) have any pictures from the Biblical (Bethlehem story) part. I hate that, 'cause I know you'd like to see Jezebel (the camel) and Madonna (the horse as well as the "real" one).
