The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

What post was he left hanging on? It's on his profile page. I think it was around Ash Wednesday.
Maybe he's given us up for Lent.

Sean Astin is gonna be in Portland to dedicate a garden project called Project Elanor.... and they have gotten him to agree to an appearance at a local theater Saturday night. The
Bit of earth people are working on getting the biggest theater in town, but it is a bit of a legal wrinkle to bump whatever new release would be showing there, and quite complicated. It will be showing somewhere, worst case scenario being the next-best theater showing a film that has laready passed its contractual obligation. Anyway, when the tickets do go on sale, they will go fast. Click that link above for the whole story, and imagine how frustrating it is waiting and not knowing when the tickest are going on sale!
BitofEarth.net and Regal Entertainment Group are proud to present:
One Night Only
A Special Charity Screening

Preceeded by the short film
The Long and the Short of It
directed by Sean Astin
Saturday, April 5
7:00pm
Regal Cinemas Lloyd Cinema 10
Portland, Oregon
All Proceeds To Benefit Reading Is Fundamental
Guest Appearance by Sean Astin!
Tickets $12 per person
We
told you we had something good for those of you who didn't make the list for Elanor! This
is limited, but it's limited to 700, and we want to sell out this theatre...we would love for Sean to see a packed house! It sounds like a lot, but it's only a buck fifty more than a regular movie ticket, and we sold out not only the auditorium, but the *theatre* for the TTT Midnight Showing we arranged...so consider this a call to all you Portland-area or Northwesternly Ringers...
bring someone! Bring many someones! Pack this place for Sean!

Wow that sounds awesome! I wish I could go too. I'm getting ready to head in to work for some overtime. The turmoil in the travel industry is keeping us extremely busy.

I JUST saw an IRISH WHISTLE on the news!!! Some irish soldier was playing what looked to be a Feadóg D whistle leaning up against a building in Iraq!! I heard it before I saw it and I ran over in time to hear them say that the guy was taking time to make music in Iraq!
Blackhawk, you said that there might not be much interest in the whistles we sent to Afghanistan, I bet there is!!
