Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I'm more interested in Jean Grey or Storm myself... I let Rose drool over Wolvie.

It wasn't that sad! - Once there was nothing there, I laughed and called him in! - I would hate to leave his spirit hangin' around outside! - The question is did the noise come from inside my head or outside?

"Spirited Away" won the Oscar this year for Best Animated Film. Clare has seen it twice, in the theater in English, then she downloaded it from the web and watched it in Japanese. She likes it a lot!

The question is did the noise come from inside my head or outside? Yeah, that's the big question, all right.
Time for me to go... have a good weekend all!

The question is did the noise come from inside my head or outside? It came from your memory. For a short time after my Daddy died, when I thought about him, I would smell his tobacco smoke.
My sister would always feel his presence when she went into the bathroom at the fishing camp and laugh at the toilet paper holder. Daddy had installed it about 4' off the floor so the toddlers couldn't come in and pull all the paper off the roll.
Memory is a wierd thing, isn't it?
To: SuziQ
Yes, I heard that. I'd rather see it in Japanese with subtitles but I know it's been dubbed.

I'm having some real difficulty here with this paper I'm writing analyzing "Godspell"...
"I think the movie is a delightful, cheerful little piece, full of joy and happy singing and more than its fair share of lunacy. It has a feeling of being a religious experience of the sort usually found only in the more interesting services of certain Protestant denominations....All the deep thoughts of Jesus are relayed through songs. Were the writers trying to tell theologians, See? Its not as complicated as you say. We can tell it in songs children can understand!... They echo and rattle around the deserted New York City, like a bizarrely happy post-apocalyptic band of wanderers."
I'm so going to get a B in this class...

It came from your memory.Yes, that happened with my Mom too. I felt comforted by it, like for a moment she was back. Sometimes I would pick up the phone to call her when a "I have to tell Mom this" kind of event happened. Sometimes, when I would catch myself, I would put off the truth for a minute and play the conversation in my mind. Some things you just have to tell Mom, and no one else.

Gooooood morning Hobbit hole!
Oh wait!
Oh my. It's been that kind of day....

Well, Monster Kitten is off to her new home.... I thought the lady wasn't gonna show up. She was supposed to be here at 1:00 and it was getting to be 4:00!
So thinking I was stuck, I was considering my options and I was touched by this, and deciding that she was fitting in too well to be a problem and I should keep her. Go figure... My big ole TomKat grooming the monster! Tomkats don't like kittens!

But! - The lady showed up and made me stick to my guns. I hope she does well in her new home and she is loved. The lady looks like a sweet lady, somebody's Grandma. Big American flag on her sweatshirt and a back seat full of new plants.

Its too late! - She's gone! - I was deciding to keep the kitty because of the grooming when the lady pulled in!
It is a relief to have the kitty gone, I can have the door open now without her running out, and I will be able to sleep at night without her clawing my face. This was a nice lady who wants her.

To: Overtaxed
Sigh.... the good ole days when I had someone to claw my face!
I have to clean my fish tank!
