The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hey, we're both in trouble for posting photos on the live thread. Doesn't everyone have cable these days?
To: Scott from the Left Coast
No, I guess not. But I did not get cable so that I could live in the cup and string age! ;~D

Hey, we're both in trouble for posting photos on the live thread. How very Sackville-Bagginsish of you!
To: HairOfTheDog; All
Well, a cable is sort of like a string...
Good evening all. I'm plumb wore out, so I won't be around long tonight. Just wanted to say hi and mark my place so I don't get lost on the thread. ;) I'm keeping up with all the posts here, but my new employer severely limits Internet access so I don't feel I can post from work. I spent over 3 hours driving to and from work today, that's why I'm wore out.
Take care all...
To: Corin Stormhands
More like Tookish... I think the anti-graphics folk are the Sackville-Bagginses!

The Lord provides!!! Thank you Lord!He does indeed!
I guess DEALS is kind of like a store we have here "Ocean State Job Lot". You never know what they'll have, but they have good deals. I'm gonna take the kids there first, along with the list of items from the Military Pride site, so see what we can find!
To: 300winmag
The next time you take packages there, tell them it's from the HHDs, and we always take care of the friends of our troops. What a great idea!!
To: SuziQ
I think so...like a "everything's a buck" kind of store. There is another one in town...I'm going to drive by it tomorrow and see what they have to offer. Kohls is right next door...heaven help me!!!
They had containers of "Landers" lotion...for a buck!! I'm groaning over here.
I am going to do soooo much better next time.

I spent over 3 hours driving to and from work today, I sure hope they're paying you enough to pay for the gas!

Hey, we're both in trouble for posting photos on the live thread. Doesn't everyone have cable these days? I turn the graphics off most of the time anyway.

I got 8 bottles of the stuff for less than the cost they are asking here!!
If anyone lives near a "Deals" store, check and see if you can pick up some of this...I have a feeling they are being sold in the dollar stores because they are discontinued???

Ksen said:If maigret(BTW, won't you be busy solving murders and such?) wants to handle the Martinez/misc articles I'll go ahead and keep the Tolkien Virgin going for you Jame. If you can FReepmail me the link again. I deleted the other one.
Maigret said:
I'm happy to do it daily, now I know where Martinez' articles are, but could you send me the sites for any others you would recommend? And when would you like me to start?
Okay, that sounds like a plan. Nothing is certain yet about how the near future will turn out on my end, so until I let you know, I will be continuing to post the articles. If/when I need the assistance, I will provide all of the necessary information to allow a smooth transition, including links to articles, the links to the ping images that I use, and whatever else I think might be useful to make it easier for you to assist.
Thank you both for your support and offers of assistance. I will keep you updated as I learn more about what will be happening.

This summer I need to kick it back in gear, because I do want to get RoTK read before the movie comes out. It has now been over a year since I read it last! Are the Tolkien Virgin articles still on schedule to finish around Dec? He has a long way to go to finish The Hobbit and LoTR! - Perhaps I will pick up my reading and discussion along with him! As it stands now, if the Virgin articles continue uninterrupted on Mondays and Fridays, this is the schedule breakdown:
| Book |
Start |
Finish |
| Silmarillion |
- |
March 31 |
| The Hobbit |
April 4 |
May 5 |
| Fellowship Of The Ring |
May 9 |
July 25 |
| The Two Towers |
July 28 |
October 6 |
| Return Of The King |
October 10 |
December 12 |
Assuming a similar release date for the final movie, the Virgin articles will finish on the Friday before the movie is released.
