Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

73 here, and the snow is gone! It was a lovely day.
I have to makea computer decision. I can replace the motherboard, which could cost $600-1000. Or get a docking port that might help for $150. Or get a new computer... nice model, on sale this week for $900.

Sure! Mail them to me! I'm not going to send the next packages out for while...week at the very very least.
I refigured the shipping, using my baby scale to weigh...the men's packages weigh either 10lbs 2oz, or 10lbs 4 oz. The ladies package weighs exactly 9lbs 4oz.
So, it comes out to a few cents over $15 for the mens, but a only $12 and some change for the women's package. It's the shaving cream...whew, it's 2lbs worth right there.
Only thing I didn't get was sunscreen. It was requested but so expensive it would have really pulled a chunk out of our funds. Maybe we'll have a "sunscreen drive" later on! LOL

It was a glorious 60 degrees here today, but most of our yard is still buried under snow! Our church parking lot still has some piles of snow that haven't melted.
Supposedly, the Farmer's Almanac says we get another blast of something on the 27th. I hope they're wrong, but they hit the last big one...

I have a couple of new azalea bushes that have rooted....now where will I put them? I have two empty spots out front where one azalea died and I dug up another ugly shrub. You could bring them to dwarf moot...

Supposedly, the Farmer's Almanac says we get another blast of something on the 27thLooking at the weather.com site, it is supposed to be gorgeous this coming week, don't know about the next. Actually I don't mind the snowfalls much anymore, it is lovely watching it fall because I know it won't be long before it all melts!!

First, here is a picture of the good Chaplain himself. He sent this to me today and I was stunned at how young he is...
Next, this is a picture of the jedis, helping load up the boxes...(ok, so it's staged...they did help! ;-D)
Now here are all four of the boxes...
This is what I wrote on the inside of each box. Due to security reasons, no personal information from any of the contributors was placed in the box.

I am excited about the next set. Will put together the stuff that I will mail right away, so you will have it when you are ready.

I'm personally very pleased with how this all came together! Not too many other threads have their own battallion! Leave it to the Hole to get something done.
I am going to do an "entertainment" shipment next time. If anyone wants to mail me a new or used (in good condition) DVD or VHS tapes, I'll be happy to ship it. Just let me know and I'll get you my address.
Also, I'm going to Sam's tomorrow to verify the price of the books. I'm thinking (off the top of my head) that they are around $12 for the entire set, including the Hobbit.
These are the books I'm thinking of getting, if we want to get "whole" sets at one time.
