Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hi Suzi,
Today was beautiful. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 60 - my kind of weather!
I have classes Monday and Wednesday night, and choir on Tuesday, so I don't get to post much those nights, and I don't freep from work. So yeah, I've been scant. :(
I get to relax tomorrow; I'm taking my friends bowling! Yay!

I was over browsing other threads ... sorry.
Suzi, it sounds like you've got WORK ahead. I don't envy you. I did a little playing in my yard this afternoon but not too much. Working on the dreaded IRS info now.
OT when ARE you going to get this IRS thing taken care of? We need relief. So I can put home internet back in the budget.

You know if we keep this up, none of you will come near us at Entmoot! I grew up with 2 brothers. I suspect I'll feel right at home little brother.

OT when ARE you going to get this IRS thing taken care of? As soon as I figure out how to do it without ending up in the pokey.

We will have to keep working on these finer skills. Yes indeedy. Some of those sounds take a lot of practice...

That's the equivalent of a vow of silence, when it comes to talking about liberals. It's been funny listening to him. Everytime he slips up he pays his producer $1.00.

Hehehe...we just beat Maryland.

My Mama and Daddy went to the drive in with my oldest brother and his wife once to see "Blazing Saddles". Daddy and George were in the front seat, and Mama and Didi couldn't even HEAR the movie during that campfire scene cause the guys were laughing so loud!

This is a great idea, but I have no idea how to do it...Sam? Ecurb? Any ideas on how to make stickies with FR and the Hole? I'm sure we couldn't put a link to this Hole, because we won't be here forever, in this particular url...but they would be able to find us, I imagine.

I just thought about something, 2J. We got a copy of that LoTR Activity CD. I think you can make bookmarks, and if we could get sticky paper we could make bookplates. I'll check it out tomorrow. Unfortunately, we don't have a color printer. I think Ruthy has the same software. Does she have a color printer?
To: 2Jedismom; SuziQ; ecurbh
Avery puts out labels of various sizes for business use; software such as PrintShop (which we have a copy of) has the templates built in for printing to the labels. What size label would you want to use? I think I can fit the graphic at the start of the Hobbit Hole on a standard 3 1/3" x 4" label, together with a "Compliments of The Hobbit Hole" above and "www.FreeRepublic.com" below. I might be able to do the same with ecurbh's smaller banner graphic on a 1" x 2 5/8" label, if he approves.
How does that sound?

That sounds like a plan! I have a color printer, but I would still probably take it to Kinkos or something...my printer's not the best.
I got THIS from my mom for my birthday!!

A bread maker would be dangerous around my house. Bread is a MAJOR weakness for me, and I have to get this weight off! Maybe after I get skinny, I'll reward myself with a Zojirushi!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
That sounds great, Bear. I just love our cozy Hobbit Hole graphic, and I think it would look awesome on bookplates. Remember, it has to be no wider than the books themselves! Can the image be tweaked so it will fit in that space without being distorted?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I like it!
This is so exciting! Did you see the packages we're sending so far?? Even Steve is swept up in this and is helping me!
You've not only bought the troops some supplies, folks...you've saved my marriage!!!
Ok...so I'm being a tad dramatic...

An early Happy Birthday wish to you 2J. I'm heading to bed. I've been fighting a chest cold all week, so I'm gonna hit the hay while I'm good and tired!
I'll send you more proper wishes tomorrow!
Beware the Ides of March, you just might hit the big 4-0!!

Any ideas on how to make stickies with FR and the Hole? Just go to the office supply store and by some Avery labels. They come in various sizes. The instructions are there for setting them up. You can design one you like and copy and past it on the rest. You'll need a decent color printer. But that should do it. You can even right click on the HH logo and paste it in.
(I'm technically illiterate, but I know my way around office supplies...)
If you want, you can go by the labels and tell me what kind. I'll set up a file and email it to you.

I shoulda read through all the posts before I responded. Sounds like you have the label thing under control.
