Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I didn't see the movie, but I think they hated just particular men!

I figured it was a chick flick and since I don't consider myself in the "chick" catagory...I have never seen it either.
Did you see where someone on FR suggested the Dixie Chicks change their names to the French Hens?? I thought that was hysterically funny.

I also love watching planes. Unfortunately, the man I love doesn't love watching planes...at least not enough to head out with me at 9pm to watch them!Marl's place is near Grand Ledge, the home base for Michigan ANG A-10s. They sometimes use the hilltop in Aki's field as an aiming point for low-level simulated attacks.
Marl and her horses ignore them, but if I'm there and the A-10s are putting on an air show, I run out into the field and jump and scream and wave my arms as they zoom past me. Marl and Aki (and probably the pilots) think I'm quite insane, but I just love having my own personal air show, especially if it's A-10s, the ground-pounder's best friend.

What is happening? Did I miss something?Apparently he's moving some tanks and troop South toward Kuwait. I almost hope he does strike first; it will certainly make Dubya's decision easier. They need to make sure he doesn't send somebody over the line and shoot TOWARD Iraq then try to say it was WE who fired first! There have been reports that he's ordered some uniforms that look like ours and is planning to put some of his men in them and have them kill some civilians so it will look like we did it.

Morning OT! Mind if I trouble you with more gardening questions?
I want to container garden on the deck. A few cherry tomatoes, some lettuce, some herbs.
WalMart has plastic tray-like pots (sort of like flower-box shape) on sale (cheap). But they do not have holes in the bottom. If I use them I need to drill some holes for drainage...correct? I'm thinking 5-6 small holes across the bottom will do it. Do I need to add any kind of liner or filter or will that take care of it?
If I can get my act together (HA!) I want to do this tomorrow.

Yes you do need some drainage holes in the bottom. Put some rocks or stones (1 to 3 inch sized) in the bottom and then your soil.
