Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Last I heard someone was saying the DVD might release in June. Which I was hoping for, but thought it was odd because of the big momentum that built-up from the August release of the last one. It was well-timed - right before TTT, but plenty of time for building an-ti-ci-ppppppa-tion.

I have a lazy-boy recliner I sit in at home sometimes to compute. I once fell asleep sitting 'indian' style with the keyboard balanced between my knees. Woke up the next morning and sneezed, then tried to unfold and stand up and I couldn't. I was bed-ridden for 2 weeks. I lost feeling in both legs down to my knees. Most of the feeling came back with time. But, if I sit at the computer without the lumbar support I get that numbness tingling sensation back. I'm a lot more careful now.

Hello Rosie! Are you there?

there is a prisoner here on the loose from jailMy old policy was...... not acceptable to law enforcement. But, I stuck to it anyway. I lived 14 miles from several state prisons. Occasionally someone would break out. I was living in an old farmhouse that wasn't very secure with 2 little girls. I had plenty of firearms in the house but, I figured the first most important thing was that I really didn't want then in or near the house anyway. So, I used to leave my keys in the car with the car unlocked. That way, if they showed up they'd probably take the car and leave us alone. It wasn't like I couldn't just call the cops and tell them to look for my vehicle after that. And my kids would probably be safer.
Well, no one ever took my car. but it just seemed logical to me.

Alas! Desk, kitchen table, dining room table, computer desk, printer desk, dresser.... etc. i'm bad. i'm really bad.Yeah, after I posted that about my desk, I realized it really applied to ANY horizontal surface in my house! I'm gonna start pitching stuff soon, though. If I don't want to move it, it will be given away or thrown away!
Fortunately, a local battered women's shelter has a HUGE yard sale every September. I'll be making several trips there this summer. Maybe someone can get some use out of the stuff I don't want anymore!

You set out a baited decoy trap! - Interesting strategy!

How's it going? It is quiet in the Hobbit Hole eh? - Good thing, cuz I am busy. So busy I was not even here!
See ya later!

It is quiet in the Hobbit Hole eh? *Looks around...pushes magazines out of the armchair...locates remote...."click!"*
Guess I'll just commandeer the throne and the Wand of Power.

Good afternoon all. I know I am not supposed to be here.
But...we JUST got home from the hospital. Luke's oxygen levels were low last night while he was sleeping and they had to put him on a mask. But this a.m. he ate breakfast and took a good nap. He slept through the nap without the mask and the levels stayed up. So, we're home and he's doing fine. The nurse said it could be because of prior respiratory problems, because he's so small or because the crud from the surgery was still in his throat...or a combinatin of the three.
Anyway, he's fine now. But it does mean I won't make it to Virginia Beach for the memorial. My mom and my brother will be there. I hate to miss it, but even if I was ready and left now, it's questionable that I'd make it through traffic in time.
I may be back on here later tonite.

Who is Wanda Power? Is she connected with Rick Cottontree?
Good under the circumstances to stay home with the little one! Your family will understand when they hear he had to stay so long in the hospital...
Can he have ice cream now? A child is supposed to be granted ice cream when tonsils come out, I would imagine an extra helping for Iowa-sized tonsils!
To: Corin Stormhands
Glad to hear that you are all home and that Luke is doing fine! :)
Take a well earned nap if you can, Master Dwarf! You've been through quite a bit. I know! Snuggle up with Luke and take a nap! Even better!
To: HairOfTheDog
Can he have ice cream now? Yep, and the freezer is stocked with ice cream and popsicles. We're also set with pudding and jello.
Right now he doesn't want it. Jr. was five when he had this done. He was so disappointed that ice cream didn't make it all better that he literally would not eat ice cream for a year and a half afterwards...

I thought Wanda was a fish.

See you all tomorrow!
Be good!
To: Corin Stormhands
Ha! - So ice cream has been over-sold and can be disappointing! I see! I wouldn't know that, because I never had my tonsils out, still have 'em! - I was an ear-ach kid, but not a sore throat kid....
