Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Glad to hear Luke's surgery went well, very good news!
According to the Dr. his tonsils were VEY HUGH.
Well, you know what they say, big tonsils, big axe.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Well, that's not really true. I had very small tonsils...

She shouldn't have, hadn't have, oughtn't have done that in a Right to Work state. :) Well, can I add that she shouldn't/ oughtn't to have done that in ANY state but we're all smiling over this today because she DID do this in a right-to-work state!!!!! :-) Finally we got some justice.

It is raining lightly. Again. But the ponies are in the shed... having their breakfast!
Which I need to do too! Thanks Ruthy and good morning!
I mean I have to have some breakfast, but not in the shed.

Well, I should have been up. But I was up late on weird threads, and there is a prisoner here on the loose from jail. I had weird dreams!

Good morning Hair.
I am thinking that I might go ahead and try setting up a freeper art gallery, there's lots of freepers who do art, so maybe there could be some interest.
Do you think it would be best to set it up as a thread as Coteblanche has done w/ her Poetry Branch? I believe she merely reposts the thread whenever she thinks it needs posting. I doubt if it could generate enough hits to be "up" all the time, but it would be nice if it could be noticable enough that those who visit the site could find the gallery when they felt like viewing the art, that is assuming that any of the stuff could be worth looking at.
Anyway, it seems like a fun idea to me, so I am trying to figure out how to go about it.
Probably I can assemble some sort of ping list by checking out past art threads.

I'm so upset!! I got this back (along with a list of items to send) from my contact...
"Thank you again for reaching out to our soldiers. You really don't know what it means to soldiers to know that their fellow Americans support and are praying for them. I have seen many, many soldiers come in the [place of relaxation] (our place where soldiers can come and get what they need, read, watch a movie, talk with a Chaplain, etc.) and dig out a card or letter and take it with them to write that person back on their down time. It's awesome! I am afraid that if and when Iraq kicks off, we will be the forgotten war."

The papers cover any and all horizontal surfaces available. randomly.Sounds like MY desk!
To: Sam Cree
For now perhaps, start a thread and seek suggestions... Yes, a thread may not be on 'latest posts' all the time, but it might run similar to the poetry thread. They have both a topic and a button on the home page. I think JohnRob had them test the idea a little before giving them the button, but coteblanche would know more about how to ask for a topic.
If you are the host of it, then make sure there is a visible link or bookmark in your own home page that people could find!
Ping me!
