The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yawn....Good morning....
You know I was on the closing crew last night guys. I shouldn't have to open up too...anyway, Jr. is getting ready for school. He has the 8th grade SOL (Standards of Learning) writing test today. We want him to do well, but have tried to keep the pressure off. This test round grade's the school's performance, not individual students.
I'm going back through the thread now to hit some individual comments:
Lil' freeper: it is major gastrointestinal warfare. ...dwarves live for gastrointestinal warfare...
(pause to make sure Jr. didn't go back to bed....he didn't...)
300winmag: MUST you be able to write DVDs? A DVD R/W is the priciest type of drive....guess I thought we did, but after reading comments, here I guess not. That's a big help to know that. I'll check out CNET.
Rose_in_RoseBear: I do, however, heartily recommend a CDRW or a DVD-CDRW combo drive. ....That sounds like where we're heading. Thanks.
Ramius: Honestly... R type blanks CD's are so cheap there isn't a whole lot of point in bothering with RW. In my mind, there's something to be said for safe storage that can't be overwritten. ...Good to know. Guess the consideration is how much "re-writing" will Jr. want to do. We'll see how our price options break.
Overtaxed: I heard on the radio this morning that Jeanne Garafalo ....another idiot. Did you see the excahnge with Brian what's his name on Fox a couple of weeks ago? She actually said she understood things more because she has satellite TV...She asked him what her being a celebrity had to do with anything. He screamed back "that's the only reason you're here!"
Overtaxed: When they first brought it up, I was willing to give KC a try.....You really ought to give Iowa a try...provided you were contrary...
ksen: Hey Seamus, when you're done, can you help with the Dwarves? ;^)...mighty strong words from someone who doesn't wear skivvies 'cause his mommy got tired of washin' em out...
RMDupree: Anyway, the first thing I want to do is to lift Corin's son, Luke, up in prayer during this morning's surgery....Thanks Ruthy. It was obvious he was being prayed for. He was a little trooper. The nurses in the recovery room loved him 'cause he took everything in stride. The kid next to him was screamin' his head off (kinda like an elf falling off a wall...). Luke behaved like a brave little dwarf.
Okie-doke, I think that does it. Sorry if I missed anyone.
I'm outta here again. Most likely won't make it back before tomorrow a.m.

Did you see the excahnge with Brian what's his name on Fox a couple of weeks ago? Nope....didn't see it. To tell you the truth, I don't even know what Jeanne Garafalo looks like. (and I don't care to find out!)
Moring, everyone!

Did you see the excahnge with Brian what's his name on Fox a couple of weeks ago? I did, I think the Fox website had the clip up for a while. Garafalo is an unusual lefty in that she is capable of speaking in complete sentences with a pseudo-intellectual tone of voice. It's all acting, of course, but the point of acting is to snow the audience- and she's good. Kilmeade didn't buy it, challenged her, and the fur flew. It was quite a fight!

Woah, very quiet in the HH this morning! Just found out that my fancy-schmancy-good-for-the-back chair has arrived! Wheeee! That will give me something productive to do.
To: Lil'freeper
Yep....too quiet.

I'm here!!
Breakfast is ready, so come on and dig in!
Bacon, egg and cheese on toasted Cuban bread. Freedom Toast with maple syrup. Fried eggs and grits. Hash browns. Sauteed mushrooms. And plenty of juicy sausages and nice, crispy bacon strips for everyone! I baked some low-cal muffins and sliced up some more fresh fruit, but today feels like "cheat on your diet day". :)
Coffee is brewed and juices are chilled. ENJOY!!
Corin - Praise the Lord that Luke's surgery went well. Give him a big hug and a double scoop of ice cream from his Auntie Ruthy in Miami. :)

Good morning! I'm here!
Tonight is my homeschool meeting...I get to present the letter of appreciation from the 24th MEU to the president. You know, from the Christmas card event? I don't know if I'll be asked to actually read it to the group, but if so, I won't get through it. I cry every time I read it...can't help myself! Ha!

Good morning Ruthy, All.
Thanks for breakfast, now I need to do that in RL.
Yeah, a couple of nice things have happened at the HH, the return of Michelle and Luke getting through surgery OK.
To: RMDupree
Damn!

Got the e-mail...you gotta give credit where credit is due.
