Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I liked "Emperor's New Groove". I thought it was very funny. Speaking of funny movies, I picked up the VeggieTales' version of Jonah last night. I like that one alot too. ;^)

Ruthie, I went and read your thread. My prayers do go out to all of you ESPECIALLY Michelle. My oldest daughter ran away from home at 16. I can truly sympathize with that part. But, at least I knew she'd run and didn't have to worry about anything else. Let her mom and dad know there's lots and lots of us praying.

Thanks again for your prayers!
I just called Nicole, Michelle's sister, and nothing yet. :(
Maybe I should pass the time talking about lembas with Kevin?
To: ksen
What is lembas? JUST SHOOT ME NOW! It's like jalapeno cheese cornbread.
To: Wneighbor
Thanks WN!
That's all we want! One lousy, stinkin' phone call! That's all!!
To: SuziQ; RosieCotton
Just remember to 'ground' yourself before pumping gas! Anyone catch that bit on "The Pulse" last week? Yikes! VERY rare, but scary nonetheless!
To: ksen
Ooo I haven't seen Jonah yet! I'm just going to buy it because I know I'll love it.

Oh I KNOW Kevin is dying to talk lembas with you!
To: RMDupree
That's all we want! One lousy, stinkin' phone call! That's all!! Yeah. I didn't get a call directly, but another family member got a call. So, at least I knew. Of course, HER story to the other person about why she left was an interesting bit of fiction...... and I'll leave it at that.

Three cheers for the Texas Independance day reminder!!!! We used to celebrate that in elementary school. Remember?

Hey fellow Texicans. I just thought I'd let you know that I'm having a little to say tomorrow at a womens conference in Austin tomorrow. They are letting me speak down there. I can be the voice of reason in the People's Republic of Travis County for a brief moment. It's about women in technology.
But, as some of you know, I've had no voice since Monday. So, I could use some prayers that I can talk by 11:30 tomorrow.
To: RMDupree
I'm torn between wanting to throttle her or hug her when she gets home!!Hug her first, to let her know you love her, THEN throttle her for worrying everyone sick! LOL! All kidding aside, Ruthy, I'm praying she gets home safely so that you can do just that!
To: Dawntreader; RMDupree; Corin Stormhands; ksen
I think Lembas looks like flat cornbread.
To: Dawntreader; RMDupree; ksen
It's a thin cake.
To: RosieCotton
"The Emperor's New Groove". We just LOVE that movie! Patrick Warburton was great as Cronk talking to the squirrels, "Squeak squeaker, squeak squeakum"!
To: Wneighbor
Oh my - I do hope you can speak! Try Brandy! - (but not too much! ;~D)
To: Dawntreader
And I LOVE The Emperor's Groove! I avoided seeing it for ages because I thought it looked dumb, but it is FUNNY!Yeah, me too...saw the previews and went "Ewwwww!", but when I finally saw it, I loved it.
