Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Gotta go. See y'all later.

I've got a clone that I use for a boat gun, made by PAC Western Arms, but am thinking of trading it for a Bushmaster, since I am a little worried about parts availability. Those things have been pretty commonly used as boat guns in these waters in the past, because of the drug trade that travels through offshore waters.

From an interview with Ian McKellan
here:
If fans can't get enough of the old wizard, neither can McKellen, who refuses to accept that the part ends with the trilogy's final installment. He has a grand idea for the prequel: "I want to play Gandalf again, in The Hobbit. I've asked Peter Jackson if he'll produce the prequel as a huge, yearlong television series. All those different strands to the story seem perfect for TV, and we'd do every scene of it. It could be marvelous."
Hmmmmm.......

Oh I can't wait for that movie!
To: ksen
That would be great if they'd do that. I'm glad he'd like to play Gandalf still because if The Hobbit is made into a movie, no one else could play that part as well as him!

We use those foam dumbells when we're doing upper body stuff. It is a LOT of work using those things. I am very solicitious of my left shoulder when using them though, because I pulled something in it several years ago in an aerobics class when we were using those stretchy tubes for strength training. But we use noodles for part of our workout sometimes and that's fun.
Folks are always looking through the windows from the lobby of the YMCA as we ladies are doing our hydrobics. You can see them giggling, and we're in the water saying "You think it looks easy? Come on in here and it will wipe that smile off your face!" LOL!
It's a great class, but I'm gonna have to miss it tomorrow morning cause I have to help out getting ready for a Shrove Dinner (Mardi Gras) at the local Episcopal Church. We alternate having the dinner at our Parish and their Church. Last year it was at our place.
To: Corin Stormhands
Surely you didn't forget the Thin Mints?Of course not!!
To: MozartLover
I also get free use of the whirlpool, and that is a little slice of heaven.:)I go to a brand new YMCA; just opened last November. They turned on the whirlpool just before the place opened and it leaked down into the exerise room below! They've had nothing but trouble with it, and it hasn't been operable since the place opened. I can't wait til it's fixed. I'll hop in it after class. Right now, I go into the steam room in the ladies locker room after class. I did that all winter long, and I think it kept me from getting the bronchitis I normally get EVERY winter! I'd breathe real deeply and get that moisture all the way down into my lungs! I can only stay in for about a minute, though, it's just TOO oppressive after that!
To: ksen
Godfather part I on AMC tonight @ 8pm EST. Part II is on tomorrow night, same time. So should we chat/view?
To: Corin Stormhands
"

LOL
I don't care for thin mints; in fact, the only ones that make me swoon are the peanut butter sandwich cookies (samoas). I can't resist them.
To: SuziQ
I usually use the whirlpool both before and after class. I have to be careful not to stay in there too long (asthma)(under control but you never know.)
To: SuziQ
Shrove Dinner......that sounds like neat idea. What kind of foods are served?
To: MozartLover; RMDupree; Corin Stormhands; Dawntreader; ksen
Thanks all for your well-wishes - 'Specially the Frodo, soup and a bourbon!
I am not dead yet! But I feel lousy!
To: MozartLover
Shrove Dinner...... What kind of foods are served? We have pancakes and sausage, or Jambalaya for the more adventurous! While the adults are eating, the little kids are doing some sort of Mardi Gras craft; last year we made jester hats out of construction paper. Then we have ice cream sundaes and play "When the Saints Go Marching In" on kazoos as we go into the church for a prayer service to prepare for Lent.
To: g'nad
... I won't support an organization that's completely sold out to the Homosexual Agenda to indoctrinate our youth...The National crew is 'eat up' with feminists, but our local troop leaders are very good. It's one reason I take part in all the activities with Clare, so I can make sure everything stays on the up and up.
To: SuziQ
That sounds really nice. What a fun idea and a neat way to get ready for Lent.
We always have a Paschal, or Seder, meal at our church on the last Wednesday before Easter.
To: g'nad
I've debated going on a diet, but decided, while reading the thread and polishing off the half-gallon of mocha almond fudge ice cream I bought a couple of days ago...it ain't worth it.
LOL!!
The boys are at cub scouts...time for POPCORN now!
