Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Ridin' the bike is probably my best bet...just have to suck it up where boredom is concerned! Put the bike where you can see the TV. The time will fly by if you're not paying attention to how long you've been on the bike. We have our treadmill right in front of the TV. It really makes a wonderful clothes valet, heh heh! Just one more thing I need to get back to doing to speed up the weight loss and fat burning!

I'm not sure which one of you told me to right-click "My Computer" and check out the properties. But I did....and it showed only 35% resources free!! What the heck!
And the other person told me to go to a website and download something that will tell me what it is. Well....with only 35% resources free it will take an eternity. Any other way to tell what it is? I have Windows ME. Oh...someone mentioned MSCONFIG too. I didn't check that out yet. I type that in the run box is it? Will that tell me what is eating up my system?

This is the tonsillectomy? Yup. Tonsils, adenoids and tubes...I'm not thrilled about doing all three at once, but I guess it's better this way.
Appreciate the prayers. His real name is Luke.
To: Dawntreader
Oh! I'm so glad to hear that all went well! :)
And thank you for the prayers.

Put the bike where you can see the TV. Heck Rosie, put in a good movie (or two) if ya can think of one. You'd only have to exercise once a week...
To: SuziQ; RosieCotton; HairOfTheDog
So I guess you are going to be the Hobbit Hole Weight Loss Coach? ARRGH!! Welcome to my party ladies... I'm gonna mayke you stroooong...
To: g'nad
I don't want to run till I puke g'nad!
To: HairOfTheDog
It ain't a matter of wantin' to there little lady...

Put the bike where you can see the TV. The time will fly by if you're not paying attention to how long you've been on the bike. Tried that...but I don't pick up TV (no cable or nuffin), and stuff I've watched before doesn't hold my interest. Music works better, but I still don't exactly ENJOY exercise...
I might eventually just trade my bike for a treadmill...used to do that when I had a gym available (in the Air Force), and liked it a lot better!

Welcome to my party ladies... I'm gonna mayke you stroooong...Um...I know I only went through sissy boot camp (AF an' all...), but it's not an experience I wanna repeat. Not that I mind pain so much...but I didn't handle the verbal abuse very well. I hadn't heard most of those words before!

(Talk about a learning experience...)
To: g'nad
crap.... what have I got myself into?
To: Dawntreader
Any other way to tell what it is? I have Windows ME.Hm...that's your biggest problem right there. ME is icky!
I can't remember if this works in ME (have minimal experience with it), but in XP and 2000 you can do Ctrl-Alt-Del and go to task manager. In task manager, you can look at processes, and if you click on the CPU or RAM column header, it will sort processes by how much they're using. That might help you pinpoint the resource hog, if it works in ME.

Wwwwwwaan...chubby chubby...
Teeeeeeew...chubby chubby...
Thareeeee....
To: g'nad
LOL!! Major Payne! That's how we're gonna feel after one of your 'motivational sessions', right?
To: RosieCotton
Hmm...I only see a list of programs in use with CTRL+ALT+DEL...I never noticed if I could sort or see how much each was using. I'll have to look at that more closely next time!
But if I quit almost every task that was in use except Explorer or whatever it was called, wouldn't I have quit out of the one causing problems? Or do I totally need to uninstall it instead of just quitting?
To: Dawntreader
it was Richard HarrisARGH! I was gonna post that when I saw the picture, but got busy catching up with the other posts and didn't get back to it. Honest, I was!!
To: RMDupree
With God, all things are possible. You got that right, Ruthy. I'll put you on our Prayer Line as well!
To: RosieCotton
...but I didn't handle the verbal abuse very well ?????!!!??? I've heard AF DI's... sounded like they were at church ice cream social... 'course, I guess that's relative to what I wuz usedtuh... Don't worry Rosie... I can motivate you without profanity... yuh just gotta be creative...
