The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think you should! Have someone take pictures of you playing your Feadog with flags and such in the background.

Knock knock - anyone home?

Back from church, had lunch. I have to finish up essays for tomorrow and cook a week's worth of lunchs, plus my brother just drank my bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper so I have to get more of that...

Hello! I'm just Freeping, playing my whistle, and waiting for 1. the race to start and 2. my chicken pot pie to finish cooking.

It's such a nice day. I think I'll tape the end of the race at some point and go plant something later on this afternoon.

It's 36 degrees, gray, alternating snow and rain here. Nothing's sticking so the ground is still blotches of green-brown grass, dark brown debris, and white piles of snow.

I'd forgotten how ugly March is.

It's sunny with a high of 61 here. It's been raining a lot lately so the ground is still kind of wet. Hope it stays dry for most of the week.

At least I don't have to be at work at 7 tomorrow. My dad accidentally forgot to get his car inspected last month, so he can't drive it to Pittsburgh tomorrow while he's at a client site, so he has to take another car.... if my sister had school like she usually does I'd be forced to be at work before 7. And getting to class myself might be difficult.

I'm getting chocolate withdrawal pangs!

That's a bummer about the chocolate. Diet or no diet, I'm having hot chocolate.

Look for hot chocolate that is flavored with Splenda, a genetically altered suger.... I believe it has no carbs, few calories, less of all the bad stuff.

It's partly cloudy here, 23 degrees after a high this morning of 36. Heading to -7 tonight, a record low for this date. I hate March, April, and most of May in Michigan.

Splenda? I think so, but not many stores seem to carry it.

Or did you mean the hot chocolate? I've never seen that in five-pound bags.

Bulbs are coming up and the trees are budding out now. It usually rains a lot in March and April so it's hard to get everything planted. And when you do get them planted, drought! :)

The high is supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow but it warms up to 50's and 60's for the rest of the week. Maybe I can get some stuff done this week.

No the Splenda. I make my chocolate from cocoa, sugar, milk, and Bailey's.

The weather here won't be right for planting for maybe another month. Spring takes time in PA....

How about we have a Hobbit Hole diet challenge.... something to keep those that are interested motivated!

I've got a jump on y'all there. A few of us at the Daily Dose started doing this last summer. I've lost 20 pounds, but I still have 80 more to lose. I hope I'll have lost most of that by Entmoot. It will be a whole new me, but y'all will never have seen the old one, which is just as well, heh heh!
