Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

ooops.... I killed it.

Thanks for that marvelous witness, g'nad. I know we were being 'nosey Parkers', but you know we're you're friends and were hoping only for the best for you. We still are!
The Lord will Bless you for your faithfulness!

My hair is naturally brown. I usually have it a dark shade of red, but I think I'm going to be daring and go for a lighter, red-gold shade. And have it in waves.
Did you see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? Well, I feel like the girl at the beginning, dull and boring and frumpy. And I want to change like she did. I really like her haircut and I'm thinking about something similar.

g'nad, I'm really amazed by your story. Thank you for sharing with us... I don't feel like you hid anything from us but I'm glad you shared that. And do let us know what the result is.

I haven't seen the movie! - But I hear I should!
Red is good! - I am a blond that has been getting darker and darker over the years. Naturally now, it is, I think a perfect shade of 'dishwater brown'. So I have been highlighting it when it gets too dark. I like using highlights, because I don't have to be diligent about keeping my roots done as it grows out. I am not good about being diligent! I am getting a few greys now in the front. Can't get more 'highlighted' than white!

One possible reason for me to get contacts is to enhance my eyes... naturally they're hazel, so sometimes they look green and sometimes they look brown, but if I could get contacts that would make my eyes green I'd really consider it...

Also I am seriously considering contacts.DO IT!! I've been wearing them since 8th grade and lemme tell ya, it changed my life!
Contacts are extremely comfortable these days and the disposable Acuvue (the ones I use) are great!
As far as the extra poundage, I can relate. As someone who used to be a size 6, being a 10 to 12 now is frustrating but I can live with it. I don't like wearing revealing stuff, so it's not like I have real motivation for wanting to be skinny. If there's a Hobbit Hole Diet Group, I want to join!
I'm a brunette too and I feel like my hair is boring sometimes too. But I'm too chicken to dye it anything other than a shiny version of the same color! LOL!

Just have to get up your courage and poke yourself in the eye!
To: RMDupree
I think you need to join the "I am pretty skinny already" diet group! Jen and I are trying to get back to 10 or 12!
To: RMDupree
Well, I think there may be a group of Hobbits laying off the second breakfasts. Perhaps you can provide low-fat alternatives!

g'nad, thank you for your faith and bravery. On a day when I was bummed out about the doctor hassling me about my cholesterol, you put everything in perspective.
You have a calling beyond being a Marine, and I'm proud that you stop by this cozy little place. The HH really is like a country pub where people zip in for a quick pint during the day, and for longer in the evening, when there are more friends to chat with. We must be doing something right if you find our company worthwhile.
