The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Was that the version with Mickey Rooney as Puck?

I played Peter Quince in college...

We all need to get together sometime next week and have a chat and cookie night in the Yahoo Hole.

Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are best for me...

I meant to tell you!

Mom gets the little girl next week, I think...another little toy black poodle. Her name is going to be Pepper!

Pippin is doing great...not having so many accidents. Sleeps in an enclosed fenced area in the hall at night...sleeps all night in his little bed then does his business in the morning. He's not very old, so I think that's really pretty good. He's growing and looks like he rules the roost when he walks through the house...very cocky and self-confident.

Arrgh! I tried twice to open the file, and each time I got an "Internet Explorer needs to kick you off the computer message"!

I wonder how Pippin is going to like being supplanted by Pepper when she comes home! You and the boys are just going to have to go over and give him a little extra lovin next week. I know that will be difficult, but I'm sure you can manage!

I saw the cutest Jack Russell terrier in an animal shelter ad last week. It described her as 'active'; I can just imagine! But I'd love to have a ltitle doggie. It will have to wait until we move back South, though. I wouldn't want to have to take a dog out in this kind of weather and in this much snow!

It can cause problems, apparently!

Well, let's see how it goes...lots of times the spontaneous chats are the best!

I gotta go, Steve will be home soon and I need to spiff up a bit around here. See you all in the morning.

Mornin' all. They're predicting rain and worried about flooding. Eeek. Also a bunch of kids down in the city (smaltimore) have been dying of CO poisoning. Everything from running the car to keep warm, listening to CDs to putting the kid in the car while it warms up and parents dig out. Crazy, sad, and dumb.

Mornin'!

Dashing (okay lumbering) out the door here. Wife was home for a week, but waited until last night and this morning to get school work ready, so I got to get both boys ready, feed the pets, make the coffee, pack my lunch, fix my breakfast, etc. etc. See ya'll in a few...

Good morning you two!

I complained mightly last night when Steve got in that he could at least tell me goodbye in the morning before he goes to work, since I rarely even see him and I'm asleep when he leaves! Well, he came in this morning, and not only said goodbye but felt he had to have some sort of conversation too! LOL

I thought something was wrong and sat up in a panic, but calmed down after I realized what he was up to. Well, now he's gone and I can't go back to sleep so now I'm up, working on the checkbook, at this ungodly hour of the morning! LOL

Good Morning!

Most of the ice is gone here. All that is left are the mounds piled up after the parking lot was cleared.
