Likely no Extended DVD until November, theatrical release around August, if they follow the same pattern as this year.

I often take my younger siblings to see movies but they know how to behave - they also know I'd haul them out and smack them if they act up! I'm terribly sorry your trip was spoiled. All I can suggest is trying again a little later and hoping you get a better audience.

I thought so...I was hoping that, what with the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the SEV release this year, that they'd simply bypass the release of the Theatrical Version, except as an addition to the SEV.

That way, we'd get the whole enchilada in the summer, instead of having to wait for the goodies. I refuse to buy the theatrical version, knowing that the EV will be out in a few months.

I'm just waiting for the end of the Trilogy...can you IMAGINE the Ultimate Boxed Set to follow?

HA! I can imagine that I might have to buy it!

I bought both versions. The Theatrical release was found for $10-15 within a couple weeks of release, I got mine when it came out for $29 with ten free DVD rentals. And it tided me over for four months. I have spent more money and got less in return before! - What the heck.

Hello Hair and Ramius, Thanks so much for all your instructions, the potato guns worked really well when tested this AM...I'd never have done it without you, and Ramius! Should contribute to a fine Christmas.

We're still going to be up there New Years Eve, I expect a workout for the PG's that night. Don't worry, both kids have owned shotguns for at least 6 years now, which they handle well, and been instructed by me + other folks more knowledgable, so they'll handle these things just fine.

I named my daughter's "LITTLE TERROR," and my son's "SCUD LAUNCHER," both names are emblazoned on the barrels.

Good night, everyone on this thread, will try to check in, the next week...I will miss you all.

Sam

Bye Sam! Have a safe and wonderful trip! Be sure to check in whenever you can and Merry Christmas! :)

Hello to everyone else!

Becky was very sick today, so Glen and I ended up taking her to Miami Childrens Hospital. Turns out she was a stomach bug and had to get a shot for nausea (poor baby cried!), some Tylenol (via the method most uncomfortable to most folks) and a popsicle. :)

She should be better by tomorrow night, but I'm praying that the baby doesn't get it. Now THAT would be horrible!!

That probably should have been "SPUD LAUNCHER," but, too late now :-)

Ruthy, that must have been scary...my wife, who is an RN, worked that hospital for awhile, it is a good one.

So, everything's OK, I hope?

Have to go now, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

The nurse said the exact same thing! MCH is a great hospital. We were in and out in less than 4 hours, which is amazing for a hospital emergency room on a weekend night around here!

Becky was very brave, up until the needle. Then she cried and screamed (sounded kind of like the Nazgul, actually) fit to shake the walls. But within an hour, she was feeling much better. :)

Not very descriptive (my previous). But I've been partying all day with my neighbors (who saw it with us) -- so I'm not my most eloquent.

Things I liked: Damn near everything.

Little tiny things I didn't like:

Legolas snowboarding down the steps

The Arwen interludes (but my wife, not a reader of the books felt that those interludes did show that Aragorn was not tempted by Eowyn and was still totally faithful to Arwen -- so I can see, by that, the point).

The Galadriel narration

The change of the end of the battle of Helm's Deep

and not too much else (gotta run again, more later).

As much as I agree with that sentiment - can you please give us a little more detail? LOL!
