Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Speaking of Rohirrim-ettes, did anyone notice that when Aragorn is talking to the kid with the sword, the boy says he's something son of 'Hamallis'? - not sure - and then Aragorn says son of Hama? It's quite clearly two different names there.

Especially those two in Helm's Deep, during the battle, supposed they were Jackson's children again.

Yes they were. I got to see the credits this time. Last time they stopped the film before the vocals started in Gollum's song.

Ooooh, I hadn't thought of that! What a wonderful observation, Jen!

I think PJ meant it just in terms of being faithful to Tolkien's writing, but that's the beauty of the way these movies are being made. When they're faithful enough to the story and text, the messages from Tolkien come through loud and clear, regardless of whether PJ and Co. get it or not.

BTW, Entmoot is in 2004, right?

And I think I read PJ's cameo was as one of the Wild Men, but I didn't even think to look for him.

I'll have to look for him then at the "free ticket" viewing.

BTW my sister informs me that Hertz doesn't rent to drivers under 25 so if you're still looking to rent a car, read the fine print...I don't know if all rental companies are like that.....It's been a while since I had that sort of problem to worry about....hehe

PJ had two cameos: First as one of Sarumans "wild men" he was running towrd the camera after Sarumans speech. In his second cameo he was dropping rocks on the orcs through one of the "push - through" doors at Helms Deep!

I think the 25-year-old rule is pretty standard with rental car companies. It's been a long time since I was 25, though, so perhaps it has changed with some of the rental companies.

I bet, though, that if enough of us rent cars we'll be able to coordinate well enough to combine rides to and from airports and events and sight-seeing, etc.

We'll all just stay at the same hotel and spend all our time at the theater or ksen's house. Right?

I hope he's rich, because after feeding hobbits, dwarves, Gondorians, Elves, and a few undecideds, he won't be...
