The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Breakfast is heart shaped pancakes with strawberry syrup, several platters of nice, crispy bacon and sausage patties. I've baked some heart shaped buttermilk biscuits as well. Sure....rub it in. :)
I don't think Boromir "sold out". He was just overmatched and didn't even realize he was in a battle with the Ring until after his encounter with Frodo.
To: RMDupree
haven't been able to get Frodo past the Black Rider to get to Maggot's farm yet. I get caught every single stinking time.Is this the bridge out of Hobbiton, or the last one before Maggot's Farm?
If it's the latter, sneak down the hill, keeping to your right. You'll see a large rock and a hollow log. Sneak into the hollow log, and go all the way to the end, sneaking all the way (Rt Shift). Then, turn around, walk about halfway back through the log, in the direction you came from (the part where the top of the log is rotted off).
Turn on your targeting (F), and throw a rock high and far towards the direction you came from, which will cause the Nazgul to run past you, up the hill.
Once he's past you, turn around again, and sneak out of the log, heading to the bridge.
If you didn't throw the rock far enough when you were in teh log, you can throw another one once you're out on the other side, drawing him further from your position.

Aragorn got nuked by the Watcher, so I decided to take a break. Crap, the watcher has WMD!
I don't have the FoTR game, but I might try it sometime! I played an early Beta test version that locked up all the time.... not the full version.

Despite his selling out to the power of the One Ring...Whaddya mean, "selling out?"

Thanks, Vim! Happy St. Valentine's Day to you, too!
To: ksen; Overtaxed
By "selling out" I mean "giving in". Aragorn was able to resist it but Boromir's desire to save Gondor overrode the sage advice and dire warnings that were given to him at the Council of Elrond.
Other than that, he's a heckuva guy! LOL!!

HA! After I give the key to the Gaffer, I can't figure out which way to even get to Farmer Maggot's without getting caught. I know I'm supposed to throw rocks and such to distract the Black Rider, but when and where is the question.
Poor Frodo! With a friend like me, who needs Nazgul?
