Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

OT: Concerning Snow; it's actually something we don't get all that much of. Snow isn't the problem, it's the crummy sleet and freezing rain that we usually get first, when it just snows it's no big deal.
However, there is a great tradition in KC, whenever it starts to snow, all residents migrate like lemmings to the nearest grocery store and proceed to stock up on enough food for at least a month. Last year at this time, we weren't doing any freeping, we were in the fourth day of no power. A windup radio, fireplace and candles, and outside the whine of chainsaws. It was an experience, but been there and done that, theoretically all the remaining trees are ice-proof but somehow I doubt it.

Good Morning Sunday Morning Shift!
I slept in till 8:00! - Unheard of! - Absurd!
I went up to brother last night to see the Two Towers! Have y'all seen that? - It's pretty good.
[sip!]

ROFL! - about the road grill!

My house after 1 and a half inches of ice last December:

I had to have my electrical box replaced and we had two poles replaced on our street. Was out of power for a few hours shy of 7 days.

To: Overtaxed
Yeah - The editing made me a little crazy... I think they must have had a mishap at the studio.
Meanwhile....
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Yeah, you can get it in large bottles. It is great stuff.
What does HHE stand for?
To: HairOfTheDog
....back at the ranch.....
I suppose some people will be inspired to do their own editing after the DVD comes out.

I just had a good idea! Perhaps they will come out with an "interactive" DVD where you can take all the chopped up peices and re-assemble them in whatever order you wish! Like a puzzle! HA!
To: HairOfTheDog
LOL That would be fun. Maybe it would become a common DVD feature. Ya think directors would go for that?
To: Sam Cree
Good Morning, Sam.
Having second coffee this morning!
To: Overtaxed
Would they go for it! - HA! - Not likely!
sigh....
To: Overtaxed
OT: You too?, cool, you'll fit right in. :-) Later in the week, Susan was at the grocery store, she remarked that it was pretty easy to tell which people had power and which didn't.
To: HairOfTheDog
Hehehe....just imagine all the fun you could have ticking off Hollywood types. They could even have an animated director tantrum graphic.

They could even have an animated director tantrum graphicTelling us why, artistically, our rearrangements do not work to move the story forward, or build dramatic tension.

Later in the week, Susan was at the grocery store, she remarked that it was pretty easy to tell which people had power and which didn't. Hehehe....luckily my sister got her power back after 3 and a half days so I went over there (1 hour drive) for a shower and to do laundry. I couldn't stay away too long because I had to get someone to remove the tree debris from the roof and an electrician and all. The worse part was that they didn't have power at work either....they reopened a day after my electricity came back on.

It's my little take off on all the HHD tags you see around (I just have to be a little different). I've been trying to get someone with one of those tags to ask me what mine means so I can ask them what HHD means!!!

I though Ralph Sampson and Hakim Olajawan had retired?
