The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That is sort of what happened to me. I had to go out and get the PowerDVD software. I still haven't installed it because I'm waiting for PowerDVD assistance to send me the installation key code.

I got it for free from a fellow that worked at an office store, but he didn't have the correct CD key.
It had never been installed before since it came from a cannabalized computer (or so he said).
It's sold through cyberlink if I recall correctly and can't be more than about 30-50 dollars.

Grinding coffee is too jarring for it to be routine around here...and besides, I can barely figure out the switch on the coffee pot this early...That's why I always buy a coffeepot with the timer I can set. I grind the beans at night, put them in the filter basket, fill the pot with the water, and when I get up in the morning, the coffee is DONE! All I have to do is warm the milk and drink it! I warm the milk in the microwave so the coffee doesn't cool down so fast. I have to drink it more slowly, so I get to enjoy it longer! You ought to try that trick!!

Hi Hair! Thanks for the hilarious subtitles yesterday.
Here's something that may interest you and other LOTR-loving conservatives around here, although I thought it was kind of silly.

It is really silly. I think I would poke the artist just for making bad art, and confusing the ring-bearer with the Lord of the Ring. ah well....
Reagan with hobbit hair looks a little like Charles Ingalls though, my other hero. ;~D

You know, my parents always said I'd make a fine lawyer. I couldn't stomach the title, so I studied to become a paralegal. After getting my degree, I worked for 2 different attorneys and discovered that I can't STAND lawyers! LOL!!
I bet Becky follows a similar path. :)

Good grief.... I didn't know any of this was happening till now.
On Fox and MSNBC -- Postal truck with a woman hostage being followed by police
My dog had talked me into watching animal planet this morning, but I have it on Fox now.... live chase cams.
Sam, Freepmail me about the cookie situation.... I am actually not sure I sent the second batch or not! - My notes are not in order! Did I say I did? You did get the first batch right? Just not the second one?
To: Overtaxed
Where did you say you sent my new cookies? To the PO Box or to my house?

I know these sneakers may not be the most stylish looking things, but I like them. Steve didn't get mad at me because I've gone years at a time without buying any sneakers and I really needed a pair.
But now that I have these...I will say this.
These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They are light and fit smoothly on my feet without digging in anywhere or pinching or feeling bunched up. They are just the best. I highly recommend them.
Matthew told me they were the best shoes he'd ever had. Now I know why! (Another thing, they have adaquate length cotton laces...good for a youngster learning to tie their shoes...)

There is a certain prescience in a lot of Tolkiens stories. But they were written with a great knowledge of histories, ancient and modern. There and back again.

Pretty cool. Pardone me if already posted.

Maybe that's why Alex likes them, though I had supposed she got them for looks.
